AAA benefits, 2010
I picked up my docs from my AAA TA this afternoon. Can I say she is absolutely clueless. I asked her about my OBC that was quoted me last fall when I booked. She assured me I would get a credit-showing me her 2008 book. I mentioned I had read somewhere(here) that the AAA benefits had changed-she had no idea. She called her Disney number and eventually was told a $45 beverage credit, fruit basket and chocolate.
Does anyone have the whole story? I can't believe they call themselves "Disney specilaists"! |

To the contrary, I had a very favorable experience booking with AAA. The TA was very knowledgable and has personally sailed DCL before and when she didn't know the answer to a question, would promptly check with a Disney rep.
As to AAA benefits, it was confirmed to me that in for 2010 sailings, they include $45 beverage credit, fruit basket (upon embarking) and petit fours (last night before disembarking). |

I just booked a 4 night July 2010 cruise with AAA yesterday. I got $150 off the package, a $45 beverage credit, a $50 ship board credit, and 4 free water floats at Castaway Cay.
My AAA office has been running a Disney promotion for the month of January, so these may not apply to all offices, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

We attended our AAA Disney special night several years ago and will never go back. Not only were they clueless but they were giving out incorrect information. I had more people asking for my number than they had taking their cards.

I booked last year also, & was promised OBC. Just spoke to my agent today, & she is calling her supervisor. I was promised OBC for 2/10 & this is what I would like to get. My AAA agent is on the ball.
Anyone else ????

We're on the 2/10 cruise too!
It will be interesting to see if you get the OBC or not. I know we got a great deal(kids free), so I didn't push it. However, I do think they should stand by what they quoted! |

DCL told me we couldn't get the Kids Sail Free plus an OBC as there can only be one code added to each reservation. Anyone know different?

You can't get 2 Disney specials -- such as $50 Visa onboard credit & kids sail free. But you can definitely get the AAA onboard credit if you were promised it by AAA. You might have to be a tad more aggressive to get them to honor what they originally promised you.

I actually spoke to my AAA TA today about the credit. When I booked last year I was told they did not have the 2010 incentives at that time and to call in Jan to see what they were. I was told the beverage credit, the fruit basket at arrival and the petit fours the last night.
I was only told a $20 beverage credit though. How long is your cruise? I booked at 4 nght. It might be more on a longer cruise. I won't be booking through AAA anymore, but this one is already done.

Does anyone know if these also apply to transferred bookings?
I booked my 2011 cruise a few months ago myself but would consider transferring it to AAA if i can get some OBC or other items mentioned for doing it. Thanks. |

We went to AAA travel expo last year before we booked our upcoming cruise and their price was almost $1000.00 more than travelocity! I just wanted deluxe inside rooms, the TA there said wow that is a good deal. I ended up going with DU which saved me even more than travelocity. Plus we ended up with sph rooms

Our $45 credit is for a cat 4, 3 day cruise. I think the amount is different based on category level.
As far as transferring, I think you can transfer it to any TA as long as you haven't made your final payment. Look at some of the other online TAs like Small World and Dreams Unlimited. It seems like these are mentioned often and still give OBC. |

Our $45 beverage credit is for a Cat 5, 4 day cruise in July. I just got my confirmation and the ship board credit was increased to $75 from the $50 originally quoted. With this, plus the $150 package discount and the free floats, I can't complain about AAA...yet
