Keep up the good work everyone.
Somedays it does feel like suicide by treadmill for sure. I'm hoping the same thing. I figure doing the 20 minutes was a huge mental thing for us and it can only get easier from here.

Wish me luck! Tomorrow I am week 8 day 2. I don't know why but I get so nervous the nights before I run. 28 minutes is a loooonnnnngggg time and it definitely feels like it when I am running

Did Week 5 Day 1 yesterday, I was stressing a bit over it but it was actually not bad at all. I've been doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred on the non-running days for cross training and I think staying active helps. I still see that 20 mins looming at the end of the week though.

I'm a little behind, but I just finished W3D1. I just keep thinking how much I would love to be able to do a half marathon.

I really have a hard time staying motivated. But I'm not giving up, I need to finish this.

W1D2 is in the books. Not that it was any harder than day 1, lol. What was difficult, however, was waking up with a headache, and how to handle it. I ended up eating a granola bar, then taking an Excedrine Migraine. It was either going to be an upset stomache from running with the medicine, or an even worse headache from the pounding while running. In the end, it was a good choice.

I went to yoga yesterday, and I noticed a marked improvement in my running stride today. I even shaved a full minute off my mile - I went a 20 min mile instead of 21. I can walk an 18 min mile, so I have some making up to do. It kills me to see all of these elderly people passing me when they are walking. That's my biggest goal - to be able to keep pace with the 60 year olds

What amazes me the most is how good I feel afterwards...I haven't had this much energy in ages. I almost can't wait the 2 days between runs.

I will do W5D1 sometime this weekend. Supposed to be Friday, maybe I can get it in before work, b/c no time after or on Sunday. Glad to hear it wasn't tooo bad. On w4d3, my breathing was easy, had energy, but my legs just didn't want to go? I didn't stop, but that kind of threw me! Not sure if they just aren't strong enough yet? Pain from my butt to my knees, back of my legs.

#1. Congrats on going even with a heachade. I think I would have had to say no. #2. I know what you mean about the little old people. Even worse, the high school boys tennis team showed up to run. One guy ran a mile in 6 minutes!!!! Oh, to be 16 and fit!

Hi everyone! Sounds like you are all doing great. I am getting ready to start c25k this next week, I am excited! I really want to do this. I also started ww a week and a half ago. I have a long way to go. I have never really run before. Even in high school. I don't know that I even know how to run properly. Maybe some youtube videos are in order.

I felt like I didn't have very good form when I started, but it's gotten better as I've moved through the program. Running just feels more natural to me now.

W8D1 done!!! Today was a tough one. Wind in my face and cold. I felt every minute of those 28 minutes. But I did it and by the end I was feeling good. I know I could have kept going to get to the 30 mark. Yay!!

Mind if I join in? I am on W4D2 (tomorrow) of the program. I live in Northern VA and the trails are still snowy in spots so I have been running on my treadmill. Hopefully the warmer weather will melt the rest of the snow and I can try to get outside and see how it goes. I have an application for my Verizon Droid that beeps when I should run and beeps when I should walk so that I can play music and run at the same time. It works pretty well.

Anyway, I am making it through, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that it gets tough in the last few minutes of the last run, but I make it. On the bright side, I don't think I could have run five minutes in a row 4 weeks ago, so that is something.

Anyway, my goal is the Race for the Cure on June 5th in DC. A bunch of folks from my church are running/walking it, so I am hoping to be one of the runners.

Ugh. Wind and cold. It's miserable! I ran with 2 pair of pants on yesterday, wish I had worn 2 shirts, and a face mask! My throat is a little sore this morning. DH said "stupid woman, running with 30-40 mile winds when it is 30 degrees." Laughingly, he's not abusive! So I told him to buy me a treadmill, since I refuse to run on one in public. He said "it'll get warm soon!" I keep hoping for it!

Welcome from the Southernmost part of the state! We're right on the VA/NC border, Blue Ridge Mtns. Freezing, snowy, cold, windy. Spring is coming??? Although, as a teacher, I'm loving the snow days!
