Mickey Head Bars

Ugh, I did not record my food for Monday until this morning. For some reason I had to eat an ice cream bar that I bought for company on Sunday. It did not even taste good, and it put me 200 calories over for the day.Today is weigh in day, and I have not lost since last week's great success. Breakfast is a new meal and new start. I will save my ice cream bars for the cruise and have a Mickey Head - now that is worth the calories.

This is what happened to me this past week and 1/2 a lb turned into 3lbs quickly. That & I have rediscovered my love for Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.

My hubby and I are going to start the couch to 5k this week, hopefully. He has to get clearance from his doctor that he is completely healed from surgery earlier this summer.

Not sure if anyone else uses MyFitnessPal...

I was discouraged this morning (I started a detox yesterday and I am now cranky without sugar) but entered breakfast, lunch and snack into MyFitnessPal and felt awesome about the amount of calories consumed so far today. My point is...seeing the number gave me a boast and now I am excited to go to my training session this afternoon and enter in THOSE numbers! After dinner, I should still be doing awesome for today.

It's all the little stuff that happens throughout the day that can throw me off and then I throw in the towel on the whole thing and eat ice cream. And the conversations I have with myself in my head! "Don't lick the jelly off the knife from DD's toast." "Don't pull that piece of fried chicken skin off DS lunch" and how does he talk me into fried chicken anyway!!! and of course "Drop the chocolate! Just drop it!"

I just did a weigh in at my gym two days ago...I did the hydrostatic weighing. I don't have my numbers yet and I am very nervous about it!

As a Canadian and a wife of an Iron Man who was restricted to walking the marathon portion in his last race, I could not help but tear up when I watched Paula Findlay a Cdn triathlete cross the finish line in last place at the Olympics. All the months of training, and the impact of injuries. This is to everyone with a goal and one day has a set back - remember your goal, and work through your challenges. You can do whatever you set your mind to, but there may be some side trips on your journey. My goal this week is not to cheat on my food tracking. I am only cheating myself.

I have found WW an excellent program, especially if you combine it with exercise. I am sure you will make your goal, especially if you keep up the tracking.

I have heard a lot of good comments about MyFitnessPal. I use a similar tool. I was intrigued about your hydrostatic weighing. I am intrigued on how it worked out. I have never heard of this before, so I did some research. Sounds interesting.

I have done the testing quite a few times actually. The owner of the gym I use does it. He has a therapy pool and drops a pvc pipe "chair" that reminds me of sitting on a bird swing into the pool and it is attached to a large scale (like you see in the grocery store). You sit on it and then submerge yourself completely and blow out ALL your air and then blow again and then blow again...fat and air float...so the less air..the better. He makes you do it a few times to get a good reading and then it gets all scientific. He enters a bunch of data into a computer program or something. When I get the printouts it has a lot of information on it. My weight in kg from a regular scale, my height, the temperature of the water, etc.

So....I currently weigh 152 lbs. 110 lbs is everything except my fat. So I currently have 42 lbs of actual body fat. My body fat percentage is, I think, 27% (I forgot my printout at the gym).

I am detoxing this month and working out with a trainer 3 days a week (I will try to supplement with my own workouts on other days).

At the end of the month, I get weighed again using the same method. This way I know actual lbs of body fat lost because I should be gaining muscle. Just knowing my weight from the scale won't be the whole picture and I want the whole picture. Although...when looking in the mirror a month from now and putting on my jeans at the end of this...I hope to see results.

I have done this before...the first time I lost 18 lbs of body fat in one month. I would love to lose that much this time too but I am struggling a little more this time with putting in my extra time at the gym. I worked REALLY hard to do that.

That was way more info then you needed. Sorry!

Smile December cruise

Hi my name is Elaine and I have just joined Weightwatchers Online as I'd like to lose some weight before our 16th December 2012 Dream Cruise and Orlando holiday. I'm hoping to get loads of inspiration from you all. There was a lady on the Fantasy cruise we went on in May who had lost 100 pounds! Fantastic. I have alot of weight to loose, and know I will still be slimming a long time after the end of the cruise, but it's a good place to start.

What a great idea. This is the one mystery of my weight loss. I work out at the gym 6 days a week with a personal trainer twice a week, and I have already achieved my clothes size goal, but I am still 20lbs + away from my scale weight. I know i have gained muscle that has been decreasing over the past 20 years.

I am sure if you put your mind to it, you will make time to get to the gym, or do the odd exercising at home. Using those exercise balls while watching the olympics is a great supplement to your weight loss program.

Excellent way to get started. And if the program still works the way it did years ago, if you slip up in one meal, it does not mean you fail the whole week because you have those extra points for your week. The key to success of WW is the tracking, and introducing exercise a little bit at a time. Such as parking the car a little further from your destination.

You should do the hydrostatic testing! If you are working out 6 days a week, you've got muscle and that may be affecting your overall weight goal. You may be able to adjust your goals a bit if you knew your actual body fat. Good luck and congrats on meeting your clothes size goal!

Medifast and Take Shape for Life

Using the Medifast portion controlled meal replacements works best when following the guide exactly during the initial weight loss. Take Shape for Life is a company that partners with Medifast to help people lose weight faster using Medifast through free support and coaching and teaching healthy habits so the weight stays off and the body adjusts during a transition phase back to regular (but healthier) eating and lifestyles.

I lost 50 pounds in 3 months. And now I'm a coach helping other people to lose weight and get healthy. I just went to a National Convention and hear countless stories about how this has changed lives.
