We're back from our trip so thought I'd post our BWI experience on this board.

We had booked standard room. Did fax 4 days ahead. Our most important request was for a room close to the main elevators because of my mother's age (70) and mobility issues. Second to that, requested day bed, full balcony and any magic they could spare.

At check in the CM said that our room had been blocked and the assigner had noted "DO NOT MOVE" in their computer. We were given room 4298 which was perfect for us. About 6 rooms from elevator, day bed, small balcony but still had two chairs and tiny table. Looking out the balcony, we could see the top of the ball, land to one side, eiffel tower to the other. Watched the higher fireworks.

I loved the decor of the rooms and public rooms at BWI. The christmas decorations were up and beautiful! Everyone was very nice.

The only food we got on the boardwalk was pizza from the takeout window. Good and gooey. We did hit Cape May over at the Beach Club for dinner and breakfast once. That was very good.

Went to the themed pool once. Daughter enjoyed a game of marco polo and did the slide a few times. The slide comes down in 4' water. She's an iffy swimmer and did fine.

Just a great trip and loved the Boardwalk. I hope we can return next year.

Deluxe Rooms

Does anyone have more information about the deluxe rooms? Are the rooms spread thoughout the hotel or are the centralized in one area? If so, what area?

I'm at a loss as to room requests here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Lori

Question

Two questions about the rooms at BWI:

1. Do all water view rooms view out to the boardwalk/lake or do any of them face the pool?

2. What kind of views do the concierge rooms, both standard & deluxe, have? Are there some garden & some boardwalk, or all boardwalk?

Thanks!!!

We had a "waterview" room that was not directly on the BW. It was above the Bellview Lounge or back end of FF (if you can visualize that) and faced the BWV and half of the lake could be seen. We had a lovely view of the lobby porch and rose garden area. We liked it, it was room 5269 (I think).

Question A question about location of concierge rooms

Hi everyone,

We just got a room at the BW concierge for November and are very excited. However, I have a few questions about the location of the rooms. When You look at the map of the Boardwalk Inn, it is shaped like a sideways "U" with the front being along the boardwalk (some rooms facing the Boardwalk and lake and the other side facing the quiet pool and courtyard) and the other side of the U faces the pools on one side, and parking lot/epcot on the other. Are concierge rooms only on the part along the Boardwalk, or are they also in the wing along the parking lot?

Also, do all of the rooms have balconies? Are they the same size or are there some small balconies? Are some of the rooms far from the elevators?

Thanks for any info!

Hi Boardwalk folks!
My sister and her DH have a 10th anniversary trip to WDW planned, leaving in a few days (May 10). They have reserved a (smoking)water view room. I'm wondering if any of you have an e-mail address where I could perhaps send a note to BWI just mentioning that this is an anniversary trip for my sister and BIL and anything they could do to make it "special" would be appreciated.
Thanks for any info you can provide

Smile Our 2nd trip to BWI and celebrating our Anniversary!

On our first trip to BWI we stayed in the courtyard and could woalk right out of our room to the quiet pool. I loved it! Recently I sent out a plea to see if someone had any better ideas. Not much has come in so I am asking for the same area again. What exactly do you get with Concierge Rooms? We have never had the honor of staying on that level. I sent a fax asking for a nonsmoking room with 2 queen beds near the quiet pool. I also told them that we wouod be celebrating our 22nd Anniversary. So far no response back but we will see when we get there on the 12th of May. Personally I enjoyed the BWI a lot but saying that i must say that I really love Yacht Club also!:D

While you're there, if you have time and don't mind checking, would you ask where the deluxe concierge rooms are located and/or what views there are to choice from. We are planning for October and I don't have the information I need on this resort.

I would be forever greatful!

I've only recently started reading and posting on the DIS again thanks to an insane Spring semester that is, thankfully, over, and realized I never posted to my own thread about our BWI experience this past Christmas.

Short Story: We adored our stay!

Longer version:
We checked in at 10:00 Wednesday night Dec. 18 and got exactly the type of view and balcony we had requested (Epcot view, full balcony). It was room # 5272. It was perfect: view out over the garden suites, and quiet courtyard, farther view was the Eiffel Tower and Morocco pavilion. Watched the fireworks from Illuminations under the covered baclony Christmas Eve (during in a downpour) and felt lucky I hadn't staked a spot in the wet and cold throng!

We had sent a box UPS with a small tree, decorations, and presents, but the package center was closed at that time of night. We were up and out for EE the next morning and when we returned to our room after lunch, the box had been brought up to our room for us.

Everything was sparkling: clean and beautiful. The woods florrs, the quiet decor, the secluded feel of the place, and the very friendly and helpful CMs made our stay lovely. I took quite a few photos of the place, but haven't scanned them in and haven't figured out how to post them, but I'll give that a try soon.

Mousekeeping always had my kids' stuffed animals "doing" soemthing different when we returned each day. The pool was a blast, although we only spent one afternoon there thanks to the cooler weather on some days and a packed schedule on others. Hardly anyone there that afternoon, maybe ten other people in the pool and another ten lounging.

The resort was absolutely DECKED OUT for Christmas, and the lobby featured not only giant trees but also a huge display made entirely from chocolate that was a scene of the Boardwalk, with additions like a carousel and ferris wheel and giant slide. Mickey and Minnie were going down the slide, Santa was riding the Ferris Wheel. There was a board listing all the candy used. The first one was: 250 pounds of white chocolate!

Walked to Epcot for the princess breakfast one morning -- took about 5 minutes! Ferry to MGM (and Epcot) came very regularly (max wait was 10 minutes).

We did two loads of laundry one night, dryers did seem slow, not a huge deal.

I'm sure there's more to report, but that's all that coming to me right now. That's what I get for waiting almost half a year!

I can say for certain that the BWI is one of the best-kept secrets of the deluxe resort properties.

If you have any questions, please post them. If I can't answer them, there seem to be several BWI supporters who might be able to!
