Downgrade ticket question

Hi all - I did a search but didn't find this exact question.

Can I downgrade my parkhoppers (part of MYW w/free dining) to base tickets at check-in without paying a change penalty?

After looking at the park and entertainment schedules for this week (Dec. 2 to 9) I just don't think we'll end up hopping more than once. There are two of us on 8 day tickets - so $104 to hop once is a bit steep.

The official answer is, "no."

BUT... You can always ASK.

It they won't do it at the front desk, ask at the concierge desk.
If that's a dry well, before you use the tickets, take them to a Guest Relations or Ticket Booth outside a park, TTC or at DTD, and ask if they will do it for you.

You never know when a CM will be willing to offer you a little extra "pixie dust."

We did it wth water parks option but only because it was cold, we were offered hopper option but we refused. They downgraded but it took manager approval, they usually do not do that.

I would call and see if you can downgrade them on your package without a change fee and have the credit put onto your room charge. If they say no, then try it again when you get there.
