Canadian Spring Break & All Star Cheer Comp in March

I really need to BOOK our trip but am so undecided about the week. We need to go Thurs-Thurs and are considering March 4-March 11 or March 11-March 18.

Just as I'm ready to reserve....I read something more about the week being busy. I know there will never be a perfect time to travel...and the longer I wait I'm missing out on ADRs, etc.

Is it true that Canadian schools will be having spring break the first 2 weeks in March?

All Star Cheer comp is scheduled 3/12-3/16- anyone know where they stay and where most of the activities are?

Are the expected crowd levels posted for March thru the Unofficial lguide to WDW? I would like to get the book this week to access the subscription. Or if someone could check the above weeks...I'd appreciate it!

I really need to stop planning.... and just get ready for some fun!

We stayed at All Star Sports this year and it was definitely busy the Thursday, Friday and Saturday with cheerleaders. The pool was packed on those nights but we were too tired to use the pool then anyway. We didn't really hear anything either but then our room was located in the back of the football section. My 16 year old son did mention that there was some "funky" smoking going on too but again I was too tired from being in the parks all day to notice.

As for crowd levels, this was my 1st time in Disney so I didn't really have anything to compare it to but I just noticed it was a lot busier during the weekend. Weekdays were better.

I would stay at the All Star Sports during March break again. Clean and a nice place to sleep and rest your feet after a busy day at the parks.

Hope this helps a bit. Have a great trip!

I hadn't heard any rumors about that...I know it's not true here in Nova Scotia, though Halifax area schools will be getting a week off in February of 2011 because of the Canada Games but nothing odd about this year.

I suspect that they will stay mostly in values like the Pop Century teams do and competitions will probably be at Wide World of Sports. Probably won't have much effect on crowd levels during the day but maybe some in the evenings, especially the EMH parks.

My advice? Just book what's best for you and plan to go with the flow. Quite frankly, chances are that you could plan yourself silly worrying about this and something else will pop up that you never even thought of.

I am going the 7-14. I have done SO MUCH research and I think you will be good going either of those weekends. There will always be people on Spring Break in March/April, just avoid the weeks around Easter (your weekends are still early enough). Cheerleaders ALWAYS (unless the stay with their family elsewhere, but then thats not a problem) stay at a value resort. The cheerleaders dont affect the crowds that much in the park, but if you are staying at one of those resorts...be aware.

One last thing that has been true for every time I have gone to Disney, look at the park hours. If they are usually really open late, they are usually prediciting they will be busier. The week we are going everything closes at 9. The week after...its 11!

We just booked our trip last week and still got all the ADR's we wanted

thanks for the info!

phllygrl- great to know you just booked last week and were able to get the ADR's. We just kind of decided on a family vacation last minute. We alwyas thought we'd wait until our kids were older...but then the more we talked about it said...."why wait??!!!"

ADR's are my next thing to tackle! Although, I guess first though I need to come up with a plan for where we want to spend the days.

We are staying at the Beach Club Villa- will have a 4 yr old and a 9 mo old. I'm reading the Birnbaum Guide and also touringplans.com and like the 1/2 day full & full day plans. We will most likely be going back to our room for a couple hours in the afternoon for naps and R&R!

Do your ADR's on the disney website if you can. We just kept checking all the times open and they still had a lot to choose from. The only one that had few times left was Ohana, but we got a 740 time.
