Crane question

I swear I did a search, but after scrolling through numerous posts, I can't find an answer...

Around when is the crane up in Sept./Oct. putting up the Christmas lights? If you have been there when the crane was up, can you tell me what dates approx?

I know they do it earlier than you would think they would and I seem to remember reading it was in September at some time. It won't ruin my trip, but I LOVE taking photographs of the castle and at least I can mentally prepare myself if they usually do this at the end of September!

It varies. And there is no way to predict what they will or won't do, year-to-year.

For instance, in 2008, the crane was put up (and taken down) much earlier in the year (late Aug. first week of Sept.,) as they put up the Ice Lights on the castle right after they used the crane to rebuild the bridge between the Hub and Liberty Square.

Thanks Robo! And I suppose they don't keep it up for a certain amount of time? Days? A week or two?

Unless they are actually using it during the day, they generally lower it as flat to the ground as possible during the day to eliminate as much obstruction as they can.

It is first brought in and finally taken away as close to the actual dates of use as they can make it.

We were there August 16-23. The crane was up and noticeable August 21 and 22. Not sure for dates after that.
