Requesting a server? - The DIS Discussion Forums

We had the most wonderful servers 10/08 on the Magic and I was thinking about requesting Miki (from Serbia) again. It was our last vacation with my mom and Miki always went out of the way to make sure she was taken care of if she wasn't feeling well at meals. I understand he may not still be on the ship but it would be great to see him again if he still is. Who do you talk to and how often are requests filled?

You can request this in advance by contacting the cruiseline by phone or email, however, to check on this request, go to the lounge (can't remember the name of it on Magic) where you can make Palos ressies as soon as you board. When we did a back to back on the Wonder, we went to the Rockin' D and requested to have the same server as the previous cruise. If it is possible, they will try.

As above, call DCL (or TA) and have them add the note to your reservation that you want Name from Country if he is on the ship. Be prepared for the song and dance "We can list a request but it is only a request and due to CM vacations, etc."

Then after boarding, go to "Dining Changes" listed on the Welcome Aboard" navigator. It is usually in Rockin Bar D. Ask whether you got that server and if not, ask whether you can be moved to his station. And if you get Jevan from India as the guy you need to talk to and he turns you down, keep checking with other head servers. The only person we've ever had issues with was Jevan, and we've had others give us what he claimed wasn't possible!
