Transportation from/to Sandford Airport

Hi, just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on car/limo services from Sandford Airport. There are 5 of us so we're looking at either an SUV or limo I believe. I did get a quote from Sandford Transportation for a limo (I believe) $177 r/t to Disney Resorts. Thought that was a great price, but wondering about their service. Any thoughts/comments appreciated.

Thanks!
Chris

Sanford Transportation already has two threads on the Disboards concerning not getting picked up for the return back to the Sanford Airport. They are actually two companies who claim to be separate but they work as one. Sanford Transportation and ST Sanford Transportation. They are father-son combinations who have a dismal record in service. They are listed as two companies so they can get two listings on the airport site. The airport is also having trouble with the (supposedly) two companies. If you want to use them only pay them the one way or else you may end up paying the taxi system $129.00 from Disney to Sanford as the two other OP's had to do.

There are many other good companies at the Sanford Airport. Don't be fooled by the cheap rates. You will get what you pay for. I would choose one of the companies that are listed on the Sanford Airport web site.

The posts were on this board about 3 weeks ago. Maybe older. Can't remember the threads names but I believe one was entitled Sanford Airport transportation. You could probably trace them through my posts as I did post comments about the company.

The other company is STS Sanford Transportation.

I checked back 13 pages and couldn't find the posts. However Lewis, goofy4tink and myself commented on it so maybe one of them know how to find the threads or maybe the persons who want their money back can post on their experience.

Yes, but we just don't want to have to deal with driving. Once we get to Disney, we will use Disney transportation so we won't even use it then. Seems like a waste of money for us.

Talking with the Sanford Airport officials I was told they would like to know if any of their passengers are not being serviced right by any company permitted there. Sanford Transportation has a record with the airport. The person to talk to about any ground transportation services is George Speake, VP of operations. He can be reached at 407-322-7771.

I just heard, second hand from another driver, that Sanford Transportation missed 4 return rides last week: Two from Disney and two from the port. The owner is out of the country, Honduras. Just be real careful should you decide to use this company.

Run away.... far far away!!!!! They failed to pick us up in August and will NOT issue a refund to me.

AVOID!!!! I don't know how to make it plainer than that!

I have also talked to George at Sanford Airport, told him about what happened to us since they advertise VERY heavily at the airport. Nice guy but it seems if they pay they can advertise and screw people all they want.

There is a ground transportation meeting Dec. 15th. Anyone who has been stranded by thgis company call the above number and talk to George Speake. Believe me they do care but need enough complaints to do anything about it.

Well, I'm glad they are finally taking some action....a company like this should not be allowed to operate with the airport's blessing, so to speak. We are now considering either FL Tours or Tiffany Towncar. They seem to be getting the best reviews. Thanks to all for your input!
