They sell umbrellas also. They have a blunt end so I'm not sure if they have a policy about umbrellas with a pointed tip

There are no restriction on umbrellas. Yesterday I saw people coming through the gate with everything from tiny fold-up all the way up to golf umbrellas with easily a six foot span.

I always take a "tote" sized umbrella into the parks in my fanny pack. No problems, and no one's said anything.

We saw LOTS of different umbrellas and ponchos yesterday. The 90% chance of rain was quite accurate!

people use them...But they are dangerous.Umbrellas with large crowds do not work well together.I have had my eye almost poked out by a wayward person with an umbrella pulled down onto their head and not watching where they are walking

I always take my umbrella. I HATE ponchos. I just try to be careful in a crowd and try to stay over to the side. I use a very small one so it just barely covers my shoulders. I don't like to get my hair wet. If someone's eye is closer than my shoulder, then they are wayyyyyy to close, even in a crowd I'm sure it is more dangerous if someone is using a huge umbrella. Just use common sense.

Very dangerous during rain storms.

They attract lightning strikes to those who carry them when a storm is near,
the same way golfers get struck by bolts of lightning when holding golf glubs.

In the Fantasmic! theater during rain delays, they have special announcements telling guests to
not open umbrellas do to dangers of lightning.

It was so hot on our last trip that I actually went through the turnstiles at DHS with my umbrulla up.... in the bright blazing sun! No problems at all... and didn't need it long.... just had a hard time adjusting to the heat that day.....

1) Umbrellas are fine.
2) Myself, I'd prefer not to carry one when in the parks.
3) But, Mrs. Rust carries a parasol during hot weather.
4) It cools her down and no one comments, except where she bought it.

NOTE: She bought the parasol at Epcot-France, and had it painted/decorated by them. It also includes her name. Very cute.

I have a pair of rain pants and a rain jacket I take if it is going to be wet. Some of my best times have been at WDW in the rain. The people there wanted to be there and were having a great time.
