Just Back! Crowded but mostly manageable!

We arrived Friday for a 5-night stay. We went to MVMCP Friday night and enjoyed it. We loved Holiday Wishes. We didn't get to see much of the parade because we didn't want to scope out a spot an hour in advance. My kids don't really like parades that much, so they hate waiting for them.

Our 3y9m old topped the 40" mark and got on all the 40" rides with no problem. I measured him before we left and thought he was about 41.5" with shoes. He measured up, no problem and LOVED Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Test Track, Soarin' and Tower of Terror (he really wanted to go ). The only time he was measured twice was at Tower of Terror, all the other times he breezed right on after getting measured at the queue entrance.

Monday morning Splash Mtn and Thunder Mtn were 5 min/10 min waits until about 10:30 or so. We rode several times each. Later on, they were much busier. We rode Space Mtn on Saturday with FP and a rider switch pass. We loved the new seats - much more comfortable! - and thought the track was a lot smoother. Monday afternoon the wait was probably 2 hours; we were glad we rode Saturday. It was open for the MVMCP but the wait was 30 min 20 min before the fireworks, so we skipped it.

Tuesday at DHS was VERY busy. We had gone to Boma for breakfast at 9:00, so we didn't get there until about 10:30. We got FP for TSM at 10:50 and the return time was 6:15-7:15. By the time we could get more FP, they were all gone for ToT and RNRC. At one point, the wait time for ToT was 90 min and RNRC was well over an hour. I was going to ride RNRC as a single rider when the stand-by line was listed at 60 min. I asked the CM how long the single-rider line was and she said "Looks like about 2 hours." No way! We had to skipp RNRC this trip, unfortunately. We waited about 30 min for ToT about 5:30. We were going to see the Indiana Jones show at 5:30, and waited for it a bit, but they only did the opening sequence before saying they had to cancel the show due to lightning in the area.

We had a great time. Everything was busy and we picked and chose what was most important to us. We didn't feel like we had to ride everything since we are frequent visitors. We took afternoon breaks most days and that kept us from getting wiped out. We had fabulous weather -- highs around 80, lows around 65. A short shower Sunday afternoon/evening. It was raining when we left this morning, though.

If you're heading out in the next few days, get there EARLY!
