do you think it will be heavy crowd Dec 5-Dec12 due to free dining

We went last year around this time and it was just fine not really busy but I am afraid this year with the free dining we are in for more crowds I know a friend checked avail. at hotel PC for Dec 4 and there were NO rooms just wondering thanks

No..most people here believe that the parks should be a bit more crowded but nothing terrible. Why? Because many think that it's mostly those who had originally booked offsite resorts that took Disney up on the free dining and 4/3 deals. There just weren't all that many people making last minute choices to head to WDW because of the great deals. After all, there is school and work to think about.
But, those staying offsite decided to stay onsite and get those deals. And they would have been in the parks anyway. And if you stop and think about it...why did Disney offer that 4/3 deal after putting free dining out there? Because not as many people booked with free dining as they had hoped, and the rooms didn't fill up enough.
I'm arriving this Sunday...I'm not overly concerned about any crowds.

Us three!!!

Our first trip was early May 2008. I planned everything based on what I learned on these boards. I've subscribed to TGM and Touring Plans for this trip because I have a feeling it's going to be a bit more crowded than May. But I can't help but feel I have an advantage because I've been stalking the Dis Boards and have a plan ... Isn't that what matters the most?

I'll be there Dec 5 to 11. I'm expecting Saturday to be crowded, Sunday less so and Monday to Friday not bad. Pop Warner is taking alot of rooms but they will be at their games/competitions at WWoS.

On average it's about the same. We go the week after Thanksgiving every year and sometimes it feels empty, sometimes it feels... not crowded but less empty. All in all kinda comperable to May, just gets chillier at night.

Arriving 12/5-12/12 and not concerned in the least. Onsite might be booked due to 'deals' but offsite will be a graveyard. Maybe a little busier but I go every year almost the second week of December and find it very manageable, low wait times most rides except the biggies (TSM, SM and Soarin' will be the exception)those are busy all the time anyway.

We're going Dec 10 - 15, and I'll admit I'm a little worried about crowds even though the crowd calendar is predicting several 4's while we're there. We're staying in a cabin at FW and I guess I was hoping it would be quiet there, but it looks like that isn't going to be the case. We were originally booked at an All-Star suite and I'm very glad we switched early on because I'd rather be at a sold-out FW than a sold-out All-Star.

I'm going to follow UG's best park guide as closely as possible and keep my fingers crossed.

We'll see soon enough I guess!

The first two weeks of December have always been great crowd-wise. UG shows crowd level for the first nine days between 4-6 with only Saturday, Dec. 5th, as an 8. We usually always take it easy on the weekends anyway, so hopefully, it won't be bad the rest of the time at all.

I didn't go last year but went the year before. One thing I remember on a Thursday afternoon, ToT was not only a walk-on, they didn't even fill the car!

One thing I learned - do not go to MK on a non-MVMCP day. It will be very crowded since those are the days it is open later and Spectro and Wishes are shown. One time we went on a Wednesday and it was so crowded by noon we left. We have MK planned for Sunday and Friday. We have DHS planned for Monday since there's no Fantasmic and more people will be at MK since Spectro & Wishes will be shown. So the parks you go to on certain days will affect the crowds you run into.

We'll also be there the 5th-12th! Even though we couldn't get most of the dining reservations we wanted, I'm not really worried about the crowds. We'll be fine whether it's crowded or not. We weren't planning on going this year, so I'm just excited to be going and soaking up the holiday atmosphere!
