Thumbs up They should just let us go home....

Am I the only one in an office, wondering why I can't just go home?

I'm IM'n like mad with another girl I used to work with. She's wondering the same thing.

We're dead.

How about you?

Just tried to call my Dson-in-law and couldn't figure out why he didn't answer the phone.. Then it dawned on me that he's in work - and I'll bet he has absolutely nothing to do!!

Guess I'll call him there.. LOL..

I'm at work. I have more work than I can possibly finish by 5pm. I'll be here late. As usual.

Are you not getting paid? if you worked for me I would expect you to be performing the job you are paid to do. If you have such an issue about being at work, why did you not just request a vacation day?

OK, this is the worst ..... I have a different manager this year than I did last year. The other day I asked a co-worker what usually happened on the day before Thanksgiving. She said we usually are let go around 1:00. Turns out she was talking about Friday, not today! So I came in here thinking I would be home by now and we have a full day. I have had only about 30 minutes worth of work maximum all day, if that. This day is dragging!

I do support. If there is no one to support - what shall I do?

Good thing I don't work for you!

Yes, ME!

The plant left at noon b/c of an afternoon event and I'm the only person in the office, soooo I'm here until 5pm. It's so quiet all I hear are the lights buzzing, lol.

Down time was always useful for filing, doing paperwork that sort of thing, all the little things that I never seem to have time to do. If 100% of your job is support that is a different story. Sounds like management should have taken that into consideration for today's scheduling!

That's why I've been on the DisBoards posting all morning instead of lurking.

I keep thinking that today is Friday....

Filing? Does any company still file?

No paperwork, either.

Nope - I'm just waiting to support someone. Server's look fine. Really no one on them - hence, no supporting.

Just thought of something - TomTheBarnCat - you're aware tomorrow is a U.S. Holiday, right?

No one is really *in* today, anywhere. KWIM?
