Space Mountain. . .How Busy First Thing AM?
Just wondering - how busy is SM in the morning now that it's back online? Are fastpasses running out quickly? I know it's only been open a couple days but I was wondering if everyone is rushing to it at rope drop 'ala TSM?

But, that was always the case with Space, even before the upgrade. Lots of guests always rushed to Space after rope drop. BUT- I don't expect the same kind of furious popularity that TSM garners. TSM is a ride that EVERYONE can choose to ride (no height restrictions.) And, TSM is not a rather rough "thrill ride" like Space. Space will always be a popular ride, but I don't expect it to ever reach the phenomenal proportions of TSM (or even Soarin'.) |

We got back on Monday from a great 4 day trip. We spent alot of time at MK and saw Space Mountain was crowded all day long. It seemed everyone ran there when the park opened.

We also just got back and Space Mountain was very busy but not as bad as TSM. We waited 80 minutes for TSM on Monday, since we weren't able to go until the afternoon and I believe the wait times got even worse later that evening.
Space Mountain was busy and we did make rope drop one day and it was kinda crazy! The most we ever waited for Space Mountain on this trip was 40 minutes since it's my daughters all time favorite and we had to ride it multiple times!

I am counting the days until I can enter the Space Mountain Land Rush.
![]() ![]() I'm guessing it will be pretty much like the old days pre-refurb... heavy wave of folks massing toward Space, secondary waves reaching Fantasyland and points west. |

We waited 90 minuts Sunday night at 10:00 pm. It was fun though!

Aside from the much needed track refurbishment, have any changes been made to the ride (queue, loading area, disembarment, etc...)? My wife and I will be there the week of Christmas (12/18 - 12/23/09), and my curiosity outweighs my desire to be surprised. We were there in September and the ride was down, and TTA was also not running, so no sneak peeks.

The chocolate chip cookie "asteroid" ceiling projections are gone. And, now there is a "ride photo" taken during your voyage. Riding the TTA didn't tip anything off to those who got to do that before Space reopened. |

CM told us they ditched the single rider line. I saw many empty seats that my family would have loved to have been in. We like single rider lines. Its like knowing a secret! The new paint was already peeling off the walls on Sunday. When we went back on Saturday, they had it covered with Black Fabric. (Which people were already ripping.)

We went on Monday and all the fastpasses were gone by noon. We rode it once first thing and had a fastpass for 12:10. When we came back then to ride it they were all gone and the wait was 70 minutes at one point.
I rode in the middle and it seemed smooth but at the end the next time and it was very jerky. |
