What time do I need to be standing at the Osborne lights to see them flip the switch?

I know they say "around 5:40 - 6:10 (or at least thats what Ive seen), but is there a more accurate time? We will be there on Dec. 6. Thanks.

Plan on being there by 5:30pm at the latest. The street will start filling at about 5pm. You'll have to stand a bit and wait. They flip the switch based on sunset, other entertainment, crowds, and a host of other variables.

Wow, that early? Too bad we have an ADR for SciFi at 510. But it is dark by 530 now.

do the lights stay on continually or do they stop and flip the switch throughout the night? If they are re-set, at what intervals?

My family will also be there on the 6th- see you there!!

Unless you really like seeing it go from "no lights" to "lights", then I say wait a while, because it is usually shoulder-to-shoulder at the beginning. They keep doing the same dancing throughout the evening, so I don't think you miss much by not being there when they are turned on.

The lights stay on continuously once 'flipped.' However there are 'shows' at intervals throughout the night where the lights dance to the music.

We'll also be there on the 6th!

I figure that if I ask this question enough times, eventually I will get an answer. This will be the 4th time I've posted it over the past several weeks, but somehow I never get a response. I'm starting to think I'm a thread killer

I would love to know about the "snow" that happens during the Osborne Lights... Does it snow just at the beginning when they 1st turn on, or does it happen on/off throughout the evening?

Any info. on this would be GREATLY appreciated!

I was there on Nov 14 and the snow was on at the very beginning, and whenever the lights weren't dancing. I guess they figure nobody pays attention to the snow while the lights are dancing. Enjoy!

From past trips to DHS & Osborne Lights it pretty much snows on and off for the entire evening. We'll be there on 12/4 and I can't wait!!!

Thank you everyone for your responses! We've never seen snow, so this will be exciting for us (even if it is faux snow).

If you go to MVMCP,you can also see it snow on Main Street,USA and some years I have seen it snow at the conclusion of the Candlelight Processional.
