What are your plans today to get ready for Thanksgiving? - The DIS Discussion Forums

All of my grocery shopping is done

I am staying home today, doing some cleaning and baking my pumpkin pies, doing as much food prep work that I can and getting ready for tomorrow! Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday!

So what are you doing today to get ready?

Working, but I work from home so I will be getting the table set and doing a little cleaning.

Today is crazy busy without Thanksgiving stuff.....we are closing on our refi today too.

I do need to clean a bit, but the Thanksgiving stuff will have to wait until morning to do.

We are going to my BIL's house so we don't have much to get ready. I have to put my salad together tomorrow but that is it.

I'm getting ready for Thanksgiving and vacation. Did the food shopping last night. Today laundry, cleaning and pies. First pie I already did this morning. Need to go out for a few things will do that this morning. This year we have small group only 8 that helps. Tomorrow morning will pack and cook. We leave Friday flight is at 2 we planning on getting to the airport earlier than usual I guess we'll leave the house at 11:30.

Go shopping, make broth for stuffing. Make some desserts to bring.

I work from home too and will also be squeezing in some laundry, cleaning, pie baking and stuffing making

My list is very long today, all the major cleaning has been done but I have one hundred smaller things to accomplish. Washing and ironing tablecloth, arranging flowers, getting out seldom used utensils, clearing the counters, prep the turkey's, bring in extra chairs, getting candles ready, making some appetizers, getting my clothes ready...and so much more. I must be done by 7:00 pm so I can collapse and watch a movie with my DD and DH. I dream of a day in the future when I will go to one of my kids home and bring a pie.

Well we are going to my mothers for Thanksgiving, so today I'll be working, and then after work I have to brave the foodstore to get a baguet and some bruchetta.

We are having Thanksgiving at my in laws. I have to do a little laundry, pack, take DD to therapy, bake a pie and get pack food for DD (she has food allergies) pack the ingredients for the turkey brine. Outside of that I have to find the charger for my mp3 player and bug hubby to get home early because we have to get to his parents and I have to get the turkey in the brine once we get there. It's already at my in laws...long story

I've been busy in the kitchen!

The pumpkin mousse pie is in the fridge.
The tortilla wraps are done.
The pumpkin ring cake just came out of the oven.

Next up.....cranberry sauce & deviled eggs!

Since my father passed away last year, I am just not motivated for this. Dinner is at my house, so I need to get GOING! We have only 3 guests this year for dinner, but it's open house for dessert. Could have 12 show for dessert, or none. Never know. We draw adult names for Christmas Eve gift exchange at dessert.

SOOOOO....I have to make the pies, set out ingredients, TONS of house cleaning, contact family members to see who WANTS in the drawing this year (it's voluntary). And......the morning after Thanksgiving, my dd's and I are heading to a championships for Irish dance. 2 of the dd's are in several events there. So, I have to pack their dance stuff, a cooler of snacks and waters to last through the weekend, clothes, and emergency stuff (motrin, ace wrap, ice pack). THe girls each have a competition buddy that they have to prepare a surprise for, so have to get out the goodie bags so they can put stuff in there. Oh geez, gotta get the girls to charge their nintendo ds's, too!
