Beach Club, Yacht Club or Boardwalk Concierge? Your thoughts?
Hi all... first time poster long term listener :-)
My wife and I are planning our next trip to WDW (our 3rd) for our 10th Anniversary. Being from new Zealand we tend to do long trip (If you are going to travel 34 hours don't skimp on a few days). The simple plane is: Feb 21- 28 French Quarter Feb 28 - Mar 4 4 Night Disney Cruise (our first) Cat 5 Mar 4 - 11 ummmmmmm As you can see there is a slight issue there.... We are trying to decide between the Club levels of Beach Club, Yacht Club or Boardwalk... but really can't decide. This will eb our first time at a deluxe let alone "concierge" level (We kinda thought we splash out due to the anniversary). So... what do you all think? Where would you say if you had the choice? |

We have stayed several times at the Yacht Club's concierge level and have never been disappointed. As you may imagine, the YC fits our needs very well. The CM's are always very attentive and cordial, and the lounge area has everything that we need to make our stay that much more enjoyable.

We are staying CL at YC in a couple of weeks and just can't wait. We stayed at the YC in a water view room back in January and loved the resort so much, we chose it again for a holiday stay.
I have stayed in a water view room at the BWI as well and although I didn't love it at the time (prior to the room renovations), the resort itself was very beautiful. I have read here on the boards that the Innkeepers Club is fantastic. That is a wonderful vacation you are planning - Happy Anniversary and wishing you a magical trip!

We stay CL @ the BWI 3x a year and have never been disapointed.
We did stay CL at the BC but it just wasn't the same. The CM's are wonderful and are very helpful. If they see that people do not like to be bothered, they will leave you alone. Otherwise you fill form long lasting friendships. The lounge and all the CL rooms have been renovated in the last year. If the weather is bad, you can always watch the fireworks from the CL balcony. We love having a Boardwalk view and enjoying watching the street preformers from our room balcony at night. The whole Epcot resorts area is great. We love to walk or boat to Epcot or DHS. We look forward to our trip coming up in January.

I stayed at all 3 places. My absolute favorite is the Beach Club. Close to Epcot, the Boardwalk.
The Yacht club is sort off all by itself. ![]()

In any event, I have stayed at all three club levels on multiple occasions. For the pre-planning assistance, it is a toss up (especially as all three resorts used to share an IPO office and at least the YC and BC still do). For location of resort, BW may have a slight edge. With respect to Epcot, BC is a little closer than the other two, but not enough to make a real difference. With respect to DHS, however, BW is significantly closer, especially if you want to walk to the park. All the lounges are nice, but I like the lounge at BW best of all (it is bigger and more spacious than the other two), but the food and drinks served is comparable. A plus for BC and YC (IMO) is that the concierge level at those resorts is on a completely separate floor of the hotel which can only be accessed with a key card that one must use in the elevator; the BW concierge rooms are on the same floor as other regular BW rooms, although behind a door for which key card access is required. I prefer the separate floor. In the end, they are all great and you will have a wonderful experience whichever you choose. |

I haven't stayed club level (yet) but choosing between BC and YC for an adults-only anniversary trip I would choose YC. It's a lot quieter than BC, probably because of the character meals at BC, there are less kids around. It also seems more upscale and you are almost guaranteed to get a full balcony instead of just a walkout balcony. Both have access to Stormalong Bay which is awesome for adults and children alike.

Bc, bw, yc...
BC has been our Resort of Choice for the last 3 visits....primarily because we have had our Teens with us...
BC: I would recommend this Resort to folks who will REALLY USE THE POOL AREA! (and folks who want Cape May Buffet) YC: Recommend to folks who "Might" use the BC pool....a bit....but want a more upscale atmosphere...and may want to eat at Yachtsmans/Captains Grille BW: Folks who will really want to walk out to the Boardwalk for the Nightlife...Jellyrolls Piano Bar...Festivities at night...and the like.... ALL are convenient to walk to Epcot...BC more so... ALL can walk to DHS...BW more so.... Happy Anniversary! Mary

Thank you everyone for your advice and best wishes :-)
As usual in life it seems like there are positives and negitives in each resort. In the end we have decided to book Boardwalk Inn. We've placed our deposit on what essentually is 2 x Buy 4 get 3 packages and the 4 night cruise... Now.... time to work out our dinning and tours etc. :-) |

I think you made the right decision going with the BoardWalk because in my opinion they have a much better and atmosphere then both the Yacht Club & Beach Club.
