Disney Kids Clubs

We will have an almost 5 yr old and almost 4 yr old when we go to Disney. Are the clubs strict with ages? Do they require id? Are in room babysitters our only choice? What do they do with children who fall asleep in the clubs? It's my Birthday so would like to do California Grill with my husband in the evening; but not sure the best way to do this.

Here's a quote: "Childcare is provided for children over age 4 who are potty-trained"

They are strict about the ages, but don't ask for id for the kids. They have quiet time - I don't remember what time it starts, and the kids will lie down in another room off of the play room and watch Disney movies.

If your youngest isn't potty trained they will have you come fetch your child - they aren't equipped or licensed for diapers.

In room daycare is an option for parents whose children aren't old enough for Kids Clubs.

The first year we did an adult night, we used a sitter from Fairy Godmothers and she was great. She brought age appropriate games and crayons and coloring books. Kids had fun with her and they were asleep in their bed way before we got back. Went great.

Last year we took the girls to the Neverland Club. They had so much fun they begged to go back so we changed our dinner ressies 2 nights later and took them back to the Neverland Club for a second time.

You really have great choices for childcare at Disney and it is all about what will fit best for your children. If they are early sleepers, you may want to just do a sitter. That way they will be well rested for their next day of magic.

The reason for the hard line on ages is because of licensing. Kids younger than 4 have a smaller ratio of children per caregiver.

Yellowstone was amazing and is a lot more inviting than Disney right now. Could we be selling it all in the near future? Maybe.

exactly.They don't require
"proof".But they did ask my very tiny 4 yr old her age. They were also in the process of calling back another set of parents for having a non-potty trained and pull up clad child in the center that peed straight thru his clothes and they were NOT happy at all.Plus they charge $11.50 per hour PER CHILD

Thanks for your replys all. Even though my DS has been totally potty trained for almost 2 yrs and attends preschool; I was leaning toward the in room babysitting given the time (8:30 pm reservation). Of course as every parent, I am nervous about leaving my children with a stranger in a hotel room. I guess it like everything in life; you have to do your best to acquire as much information as possible and then using your instincts make the best decision for you. And the good thing is we are staying in the Contemporary so I could just drop in and see how things are going if I feel so inclined.
