Dec 3-12, worried about rain/lack of sun - what to do?

So, we'll be there doing a couple days at MK & Epcot and couple days at IOA and Universal next week (also a MVMCP one night). I see the forecast has the possiblity of rain or total cloud cover on some days.

If that happens, what is a good plan B for us? What are the best things to do in those parks if it's pouring? If it's below 70 it will be too cold for me to want to get wet...

i've been WDW about 10 tens (a novice HERE, I know but still) and only ONCE did it rain so much that it was necessary to seek shelter. I'd pack a poncho and if it got toooo wet (we saw rain up to our ankles on one trip ...but only one), I'd seek shelter indoors til passed over. It usually goes pretty quickly.

That forecast will likely change 20 times by the time your vacation rolls around.

First, Stop stressing about things that you have absolutely NO CONTROL over.Second, the forecast for Orland ochanges all the time.Third, if it rains ,throw on a poncho and hit the parks anyway

I wouldn't let the weather get in your way of a good vacation. After all, this is Florida and the weather can be very unpredictable. It can be raining "cats and dogs" in the distance and be sunny where you are. Why, I've even seen it raining on one side of the road and not the other. Also, it doesn't last too long either. Just be prepared--buy or bring ponchos (I also bring some gallon baggies and put the ponchos in it after we are done using them and carry it to the parks) also bring a change of socks (I hate wet socks) and dress in layers. It is that time of the season where the days can get rather warm but at night it gets chilly. You can also rent a locker at the parks and keep it in there until you need it. The rides will not close down but there might be an abbreviated version of the parades if it rains.

Well since the weather forecasters can rarely get the weather correct predicting just a few days out, I certainly wouldn't worry about the weather yet. Way too far in advance to even know what it will be like. But if the weather isn't as nice as you would like it, try not to worry and just enjoy your trip! I have gone several times and have never had bad weather the WHOLE time.

In my experience of approximately 10 trips to Florida in my lifetime, it seems like it rains for an hour in the afternoon on ~80% of the days. But before and after that one hour period there is nothing to worry about.

It's good news/bad news.

Bad news....it might rain and that's a bummer.

Good news....parks will be less crowded. Put on your poncho and waterproof shoes and have fun.

Last visit to WDW I was in a scooter because of injuries from a recent accident. We were poking around the Beach Club waiting for our DVC room. We wanted to stay close to "home" because the skys looked threatening.

Well......it began to rain BUCKETS - you can't imagine the rain.

How on earth was I going to get back with the scooter?

As we were scratching our heads I looked down at a maid's cart and saw the giganto trash bags. One on the scooter front - one over the back and my Mickey poncho! DH in his raingear --- we didn't head for the room....we scooted right into EPCOT as everyone was running out.

Yes, ok...say it....I was the BAG LADY - but arrived dry at each ride all afternoon....in my trashbags!

You know what they say...lemons to lemonaid!!!

Have fun!

We will be at DL next week.

I wouldn't worry. Wear a poncho and keep in mind that actual rain might just keep the crowds down. The 3 outdoor coasters at Universal might be affected so you might want to keep an eye on the forecast and hit those on that clear day or early before the rain starts if possible.

We just got back and were there when Ida passed. While initially we were bummed out that Ida might mess up the weather for a few days, after I thought about it I got a little excited that we could just chuck on ponchos and have relatively empty parks to ourselves!

My most favorite memories of WDW as a kid was being there with my parents in the pouring rain. We donned our ponchos and ran around from ride to ride with little to no wait. It was a blast!

Ultimately Ida only brushed by and left some wind and a bit of drizzle and I have to say I was actually a little disappointed we didn't get our "rainy day at WDW"

Go.... don't sweat the weather.... and HAVE FUN!

I'm sorry but you're posting this on November 24th and worried about a forecast for December 3rd+?? Sorry but you must be joking, right?

And there's 2 or 3 other threads on the same topic. Everyone needs to relax. If it says rain the day before, then get concerned.

Oh, so true. I start looking at the weather ten days before we go and changes so much. Last week, it was going to be in the 80s for our trip for Thanksgiving. Now I'm looking at high 60s, low 70s. We had rain forecasted and now there's none.

Worry about the rain once you get to December 2nd.

I fly down Sunday night and will be there for two weeks. I'm sure that it will rain at some point. I will say that, after 6 trips to WDW, at this exact same time of year, rain has never been an issue for me. Sure it could be a downpour, but it isn't anything that I can do anything about.
The forecasters can't get the forecast right when it's only two days away...I certainly wouldn't give too much credence to what they are forecasting next week or after. Anything further out than the weekend, at this point, is just guesswork.
