In love with MVMCP etc! Please help me plan the next trip

So we are just back from a quick trip and I am I love!! I have never been to MVMCP before or seen the parks with Christmas Decorations. The Osborne Family lights were amazing. So I've decide that this is something I want to try to do every year. Obsessive –compulsive planner that I am I want to start planning/ saving now and I need some input. My Birthday is Nov. 21st so potentially this could become a birthday tradition (at least as long as we live in Florida and can get there in an hour and a half). But weren't the Osborne lights early this year? So I'd miss them going on my birthday?
Alternatives of course are going during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Which is busier or are they both insane? I could also just do a random weekend early in December. The crowds would be lower then and we could do more with our time right?

So sorry for all the questions I am just that excited and really want to find a way to make it work. Any and all input is most welcome!

Thanks!!!!

The Osborne lights were indeed early this year. last year they started thanksgiving weekend. If you have to go on a Holiday...Thanksgiving is busy but not as bad as Christmas. Christmas week is the busiest it ever gets in WDW.Unfortunately, they do not do MVMCP during Thanksgiving week and it ends usually around Dec 18 or 19th every year. They simply do not do hard ticket events when it is peak times

Actually I believe the Osborne lights were late last year compared to previous years, or at least 2007 anyway. I think 2008 was the anomaly. Please speak up if this isn't correct.

We were in Disney the second week of November in 2007 and 2009. Both years the Osbourne lights were up and running. I think 2008 just happened to be very late.
