When would you go?

I see the thread about June or August and this will be the first year we have to brave the summer months at WDW!! If you had the choice, which week would you go and why? This is a tough one!!

I prefer the weather in June, but August is cheaper if you are staying onsite.

I picked August. Both will be hot; August will be hotter. I have visited in June before, and when you get that late in June crowds are building toward the July peak. August may be a bit less crowded, plus if I recall correctly Disney ffered free dining this past August.

I can tell you that we went right around those dates in August this past summer, and had a fantastic time! Sure, it was hot - but you deal with it. Lots of indoor rides, afternoon breaks at the pools, gallons of water....

The first four days of our trip were low/moderate crowds, but the crowds really picked up when free dining started, so you might want to be aware of that if they do it again this year....We had a room discount that saved us as much as the free dining would have, so we went with that.

I've been both times of year, and we prefer August. Yes, it's a bit hotter/ more humid, but June was pretty hot too! The crowds were definitely lower during August, and we also got "free" dining (lost our room discount but still a good deal).

Thanks everyone!! We are actually booked for August right now but I was considered about all of the reports about that month. I know both will be hot but I figured that late in June would be hot and crowded and I'd rather avoid both if I can!! I appreciate the advice and hope to hear more!!

I picked August because I know some kids will be back in school (mine will) so I am assuming the crowds will be a little bit lighter then in June.

I voted June only because August is usually when hurricane season really picks up. We've had it easy in FL for the past few years and I have a feeling our luck is about to run out. I'm expecting a more active hurricane season next year.

Let's hope that isn't the case!! I guess we'd see Disney in a whole new light!! Thanks for the input. It's greatly appreciated!

Our kids go back after Labor Day so I am hoping that crowds will be lower because many will already be back!! Thanks!

Same reasoning for me too. My kids go back the first week of August.
