Had to tell someone who "gets it" - The DIS Discussion Forums

Okay, so Sunday is my 7 month booking date and I am so anxious and excited I could nearly scream. I find that I am just counting down the days in antcipation and just had to vent this somewhere where it could be understood. I wouldn't dare mention to my colleagues as they just would not get it or care....(we have so much other stuff going on)
This will be my first DVC stay which makes the anticipation even more intense

I already booked my home resort for the last part of the trip(split staying) and am hoping to get BCV or BWV for the first leg of this adventure. Wish me luck and some sort of downer!!

Congrats and good luck! Some of us really do understand!!

I will be doing this same "Wait in anticipation" in February for my 7 month window (it's also my first time staying DVC)...hope you get the resort you are hoping for!!!

that you get exactly what you want!! One of the many perks of owning DVC is we get to act on this kind of excitement so often!!!

Yes, we definitely understand what you are feeling. We have a trip scheduled for 9/23/2010, and we'll be staying the first 2 nights at BLT and the next 5 nights at AKV, which are our home resorts. My brother will be staying with us, and we are anxious to show off our home resorts to him. We are almost 100% certain we won't want to change resorts for that trip. Nevertheless, I have a countdown ticker on my computer for 2/23/2010, when the 7-month window opens for that trip just in case we want to think about switching resorts. I think its all part of the fun of being a DVC member!

Same with me. Have trip in January and another in June aready on the books. I had the 7 month date for June on my schedule for months and it came through for Kidani savannah view.

Now I'm desperate with anticipation of making my 11 month reservation for the TH in December. This is already my first time having two active reservations going, and I can't wait to actually have three.

It gets worse. There is no cure for this addiction . We've owned DVC for nearly 8 years now and the anticipation is just as intense as it was when we first joined.

I do hear they have plans to build a new tower as part of the DLH renovations. I'm hoping it's a DVC tower so we can get in on the 7mo fun!

I can totally sympathize and will tell you that it only gets more fun from here on out. I wanted to switch to AKV for this last trip soooooooo badly that when I called on the day of our 7 month window and the CM at MS told me there was availability, I just about screamed in her poor ear!

I can sympathize with you! I did the same thing last month. When I called at 7 months for BWV or BCV 2 bedrooms both were available. I was so happy that we can take our friends and family to the BCV next May for a graduation celebration for our son. He will be graduating from college and starting a career as a paramedic firefighter. My DH is a firefighter also so I see we have something in common! Good Luck

I know exactly how you are feeling. Our 7 month window opened while we were on vacation this past June. I had set the alarm clock so I would be sure to be up at 830. This will would ensure I had at least one cup of coffee before I called MS. When they told me we had gotten BLT at the 7 month window I also about screamed in her ear. No one that was with us could understand why we were so excited about getting a room for a trip 7 months away. Good Luck I will send you some pixie dust for luck

My 7-month window is December 11! I know how you feel. We will be trying for a 2 bedroom at either BWV or VWL.

We get it! We get it!

And we know what you mean! It is not easy sharing the enthusiasm in our family, as no one is involved with anything close to DVC, let alone enjoying what Disney offers.

"Going to Disney again" asks the guy just back from his yearly golf outing to Myrtle Beech (with the same guys, too!).

"I'd never be caught dead owning a timeshare; I've seen them in the movies. Don't you know that in a few years the pool will be drained and the same people you see every year there will be on your nerves?"

"I use the special deals and get exactly what you get but for less!"

We've learned to not mention it, ignore the ignorant, and run here to share the excitement!

Come often, share lots, we get it!
