Do they still give you a family photo at MVMCP? - The DIS Discussion Forums

Last time we were there in either 2004/2005 we went to the party and a nice set of photos were offered in the price of the ticket. We did have to stand online it was worth it. So they still do that? I didn't see it listed when I checked the link but didn't know if it was just not mentioned?

No, they don't offer that anymore. I think you can get 40% off a photopass picture taken at the party.

If you use the special party photopass, you can get a discount on your party photos. But, that 'free' photo is just one of the things Disney took away, while raising the price.

You don't get the picture; however, you get 40% off ALL photopass pictures from your trip- not just the ones taken at the party. They'll give you a special Christmas party photo pass and throughout your trip, make sure you give photographers that card. If you have other cards from before the party, they will happily combine the cards. I just ordered a couple pictures and it saved me a lot of money. Unfortunately, the 40% off is only for prints. You cannot use it for the downloadable picture or the cd.

Thanks....I didn't think so...didnt' even know about the pin, but then again my kids weren't into that yet. That stinks when they make cutbacks...like no appetizers on the DDP....LOVED that!

NICE! Now that is a very cool tip, thank you. I will not be able to get the advanced purchase CD so this may be a good alternative. Thanks again.

the 40% off is for prints only, not the PhotoCD

and cutbacks is a relative term. you might have to spend money, but buying 2 prints is almost the same as getting one free at the discounted rate (particularly the first year, when it was 50%)

so instead of getting just one free photo, you can get multiple 'free' ones if you wish.

Call it what you want but it's just another reason I'm hating the parties. The pics were a nice treat (we had collected a few from over the years).

The discount is nice (should give that to you anyway for forcing you to pay so much more to take advantage of the park) but a weak substitute.
