Disney Wonder information

Hi- any info would be helpful.
We are surprising our children by taking them on another disney cruise in March. I am wondering what shows will be going on during that time period.

Also - can anyone think of anything to make this a special trip for them - 11 year old girl and 12 (1 month shy of 13) boy.

we will surprise them on xmas am. This trip will also be our 15th anniversary trip.
thanks

I have no doubt that your family vacation will be special already!

Here are a few ideas that might make this trip a little extra special for them...

Visit the Fairy Godmailer thread on these boards and volunteer to send a post card to younger children while on your cruise. Your DS and DD could pick out a post card they think the other children would like and have a character sign it while on the ship. They can then either mail it from Castaway Cay (with Bahama postage) or at guest services on the ship (with US postage). We have done this in the past and the receipts seemed to have enjoyed getting a post card from Mickey telling them that he was excited about seeing them real soon.
You might even send yourselves a post card as a reminder of what a great time you had!

You could prepare a treasure hunt for them to complete while on the cruise. If you do not think you can put the clues together yourself, Passporter published a book with prepared treasure hunt clues for each ship and Castaway Cay. If your children have their own camera, they could have someone take their pictures in front of the answers. (Example, how many buttons are on Mickey's glove at the pool?) They could scrapbook the pictures when they get home. This could help make sure you have pictures of them from your trip.

You could also join a fish extender gift exchange in the meets thread and put them in charge of planning and delivering your gifts.

Happy Anniversary and have a great trip!

Its a Disney cruise so its already special! And since its sounds like they've been before, once you have surprised them then just ask them what would make it more special. Their responses may surprise you. You can be their personal cruise director and help book things that interest them as well as looking at recent Navigators to begin building excitement. They can then begin picking things from the Navigators they'd like to do this time.

Schedule a "Disney Date" each much leading up to the cruise where you bring out a new Navigator for the entire family to look at. Make it a big deal with cruise themed food or something like that, or your own "drink of the day". It'll prolong the excitement!

They have been on a Disney cruise before? Here are some items you could give them as hints on Christmas (to be used on the boat in March):

- an autograph book, or notecards (if you want to scrapbook the autographs later)

- photo mattes (or pillow case or t-shirt) to guest services for get the characters to autogrpah them (one per guest - search this site for additional suggestions regarding this)

- pirate gear and glow sticks for pirate night

You could also make a countdown calendar. (Check the 'Creative Community' subforum on this site.)

Have fun on your vacation!
