Trying to decide on QS plan or DDP after 4 day cruise
We are going to disney parks for 4 more nights after we get off our 4 night cruise. For those of you who have done this were you "fooded" out after the cruise? We like prepaying for all the food but can't really decide between the QS or regular DDP. Unfortunately we can't wait until we get off the boat to decide. What is your experience?
Thanks, Debbie |

I saw your post and thought I'd reply. I have not done a 4 day Wonder, but we were on the Magic for 7 nights in April. I have to say that the last thing I wanted after disembarking was a big meal for several days! So if it were me, I would probably get the QS dining and then if you change your mind about a meal or two, pay for it OOP.
Just my 2 cents...HTH! |

We did the DxDP for 3 days before our 7 day cruise and we were "fooded out" before the cruise. The good news is I only gained 1.4 pounds! I did enjoy the flexibility of the DxDP. We upgraded to it during the free dining promo. I don't know if it would have been worth it if we paid the full price of it though.

I would say go for the QS plan. This is what my DH and I did in April. We are not big into sit down meals and it also gave us plenty of options for places to eat. (Plus no ADR's required) Even with QS it sometimes seems like you get too much food.

Unless you want to make reservations ahead of time
and take advantage of character meals...I'd opt for quick service. It doesn't mean you can't have a sit-down meal...just means you're not tied to 4 of them! you'll use the quick service meals for sure.
plus I love the 2 snack items and the drink mug!

As the price of the DDP has increased and the included items have decreased it has become less of a "deal." The food at some of the sit down restaurants is better than the food on the ships, but after 7 days of sit down dining on the cruise, I don't think I'd do it for the next days at WDW. If you use your quick service wisely, it is MORE than enough food for the trip.
I just ran the numbers because I was thinking about adding the DDP for our pre-cruise stay. Looked at the menus, our dining plans, and decided it wouldn't be a good deal based on what we'd really eat. I mean, I won't order dessert at dinner every night normally, but when it's on the plan I'll get it...... |

We did 3 days at WDW before our cruise and originally paid for dining. We were able to get our dining plan refunded and added one TS a day to our QS plan and only had to pay a few dollars extra. In the end I saved us about $300.00 with the free dining. If you don't want fancy dinners then go with the quick service. If you don't want fast food I would go with the 1 TS and one QS per day option.
We ate a big breakfast each day. Had a snack mid day if we were hungry and then used our TS at night. On our first night we ate at AK Sanna.(another $125.00 bill) We had two TS meals on our Epcot day(breakfast at Akershus). We had two QS meals on our VMCP night and on our last day used our remaining credits for breakfast. If you want expensive meals like Teppan Edo which would have been $135.00 out of pocket for us you need the TS plan. We did so much walking all week both at WDW and on the ship and in Nassau that I didn't gain any weight. The ship has light options and you aren't required to clean you plate
