Last minute driving question

Hi there,

We are leaving for WDW in 2 days!! I'm trying to do my last minute scheduling & I was wondering if someone could help me....

How many minutes would you allot to....

-Leave Epcot & drive to Boma at AKL on Thanksgiving day?
-Leave MK & drive to Cape May at the BCR on Friday?

Thank you!!

About 20-30 minutes for both. But for checking in for ADR's you'll want to get there about 15 minutes before your time, so 1 hour should be sufficient.

Taking into account, traffic, signals, parking, etc., and I hate being late.

Epcot to AKL - at least 30+
MK to BCR - at least 20+

The actual driving part from Epcot is pretty short. The actual drive is only about 5 miles, and ten minutes. 'Overal drive time' though means different thing to different people: it takes time to get to the gate of the park, finding your car, a few minutes to get out of the parking lot, especially if you are leaving at a really peak time like when the park closes, or Illuminations finishes. I'm gatherinsince you say 'for dinner' - that you will be going beofre that.

Thanksgiving is busy, but not as bad as some other holidays. The parks will be crowded that day to be certain, but it won't be some huge, mad rush. (unless there is aan accident or something).

I am also assuming you know the direction to drive, that you are allowing time to leave the park, find your car, park your car, find the restaurant within the resort, etc.

If youare including all those things then ten minutes driving is about what you need. Some folks may take aLONG time to find their car though, and you won't know until that day how far your car is from the gate of Epcot --and thus how much time to aloow to get TO your car from the park exit.

Magic Kingdom to BC is a little further actually. Mapquest says it's about the same distance, but the MK parking lot is much bigger...and I'm not sure they are giving directions from the true exit of the lot. I'd allow more like 15 minutes from MK. Again - that's DRIVING time, not total time.

From the actual Magic Kingdom - you need to get fromthe park exit to the TTC via monorail. You can't park right next to the gate of the park at all. you should allow about 15minutes to take the monorail to your car. Beyond that, you will almost certainly HAVE to take the shuttle tram to your car. It depends again when you leave MK (how crowded). Right after the parade is a busy time to leave MK. Again, only on - THAT DAY - will you actually know WHERE you had to park. The MK parking lot is more spread out than the Epcot lot. You probably will need about an hour fromhe time you are at the gate of MK to get to BC to be safe. (10 for monorail, 10 for tram, 15 driving, 15 for arriving early, extra ten to be safe).

Parking at both resorts is pretty close, and you can always drop someone off.

Be certain to have a good map of WDW. You can request one at bell services of any resort. Driving WDW can be tricky, exits are marked - but some are only marked once. There are speed traps on WDW, and bound to be some on the holiday weekend!

Have fun!
