Towel and trash service question
Hi all! Quick question. We're staying for a week in an OKW studio room. I read towel and trash service is on day 4. If we check in on a Saturday night, is our service on Tuesday or Wednesday? I just want to make sure to leave a tip on the right day. Thanks all!

Tuesday. Your check-in day is day 1.

Tuesday.
Or at least a Sunday check-in gets Wednesday service...

There really is no need to tip the housekeepers. All they will do is replace your towels and remove your trash if you are staying on a points reservation. No bed making, no straightening the villa, no dishes washed. They will be in and out in five minutes or less.

OKW and VWL Homes Yellowstone was amazing and is a lot more inviting than Disney right now. Could we be selling it all in the near future? Maybe. |

I know, it just feels like the right thing to do however. They can't make tons of money and it'll make me feel good to give them a little "extra".

I know many on this DIS don't believe mousekeeping a tipping service but I know for a fact many workers in housekeeping are the main bread winners for their family so how can I begrudge them a small tip?

I can never keep those days straight -- the way they change based on how long you're there. The easiest place to figure it out is on your reservation confirmation letter. I belive it lists the actual dates you'll receive each service.

Mousekeeping is the biggest part of our dues, but I still tip them for what they do.

we found leaving a tip tends to get us more than just T & T. They have washed dishes & straightened up a bit too. I think a small tip goes a long way.

It wouldn't surprise me if many are the only bread winners in their family. My feeling is DVC is a luxury I can afford. I doubt many of those working for mousekeeping could ever afford it, so, since I can make their day a bit brighter, I will.

1) We don't worry about it.
2) We get fresh towels any day we wish, and for no extra cost. 3) It is just a matter of how/when you ask for them. |

Yeppers... this is the simplest way (at least it used to be anyway). They list right on your res your T&T day.
