on-line check in, room isn't ready? - The DIS Discussion Forums

If i use the on-line check in but our room isn't ready yet what happens then? We are arriving in orlando at 11:30am. I suspect we'll be at the resort in at least an hour or so. that's way before the check in time..
What will happen then, if the room isn't ready?

You will get all the information, including your room keys. They just won't tell you what room it is.

You can give them a number and they will send a text when it is. Then, you can either hang around the resort or go to a park.

If you booked a package with tix and the dining plan, those will be activated as soon as you pick up your things so you can use those right away.

What do you do with your Carry on Bags? Can you turn themover to the hotel and they put them in your room? We're arriving at 10 am this trip and plan to head to Epcot after we check in. I doubt we'll be lucky enough to get our room early.

You can leave your bags with Bell Services until your room is ready. When you get to your room, you just call down to Bell Services and they'll bring the bags up to your room.

Luggage that's transported by Magical Express will be placed in your room whether you're there or not; bags that are checked with Bell Services will not be brought to your room if you're not there. I don't know why that is, but that's the way it works.

My guess would be that if you check your bags with bell services they will only deliver them once you call and are in your room because they will then get a tip for handling the bags for you and with ME it is probably included with the service that Disney provides and pays for.

Check in ( even on line) can be done anytime. Does not guarantee a room will be ready. Rooms aren't guaranteed till 3 or 4pm depending on the resort, and sometimes they are even later than that.If your room is not ready, you can leave your things with guest/Bell services.
