Raining in December

Ok, after looking that temperatures are lowering after Thanksgiving, I saw the forecast and it shows raining on Dec 5th & 6th, exactly when I'm arriving. I know that this can change, but my question is: are December rains similiar to September's? You know, rains in the afternoon for about 5-10 minutes and then clear.
Do you feel cold with Dec showers?? Mickey's raincoats will do the trick? What do you do?

Last year, third week of December.
Most days I wore shorts.
One day was rain morning well into the afernoon. We wore plastic ponchos and we were fine.

I'm not sure about the forecast in other areas of the country but in South Florida, you can't count on any weather report until 4 days before the event. Even then, there is a good chance it may be wrong.

take a look at the forecast in 10 days, then we'll talk.

I've been a meteorologist for over 20 years, and anything 10-14 days out is just the barest of vague notions for anyone no matter who they are or who they work for. 7-10 days a very very rough guess (might need to add another very or two). I usually feel pretty good at 3 days...sometimes up to 5 or 6 days depending on the pattern.

I use to live in Bullhead City. The weather there was pretty much the same thing every day, hot and sunny, hot and sunny, hot and sunny!

I guess it's a case or pre-Disney-trip-hysteria (mine, of course)... I was looking at the good weather and was a little bit horrified.
Thank you for putting my mind at ease!

Florida weather can be all over the place. I wouldn't start following it until about 4 days out...your just going to stress yourself out.

If it does rain the answer to your question is, no. The rain in December usually lasts longer than the storms we get in September. December rain usually comes with a cold front, and can last from a few hours to a few days. It's a lighter rain, most of the time. Although we were at a MVMCP a few years ago, and it rained so hard, the water around TTA was up to, just below my knees. Once we decided we were gonna be wet, we had lots of fun. (no crowds)

Unfortunately, that happened to us one time in early December. It rained hard for 24 hours straight from Monday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon. We had planned MVMCP for Tuesday night but with the rain forecast, I was afraid to buy the tickets. When it cleared up in the afternoon, I paid the full price to go. Good thing I did because Thursday night the same thing happened - hard rain that did not end before we left Friday afternoon. I think it was 2002. But out of about 10 December trips, that only happended once, the rest of the trips had very little rain.

Keep telling yourself, "I will not melt, I will not melt." Disney is Disney. I refuse to let a little water get in my way!
