Keurig lovers... I would like some ideas!

DH saw this at Sears and was all over it. He's a guy who love his gadgets.

He doesn't drink a lot of coffee, but he loves funky things... flavors and such.

So I'm planning on getting him a Keurig for Christmas and was wanting some ideas as to which flavors to buy.

So what are your favorites?

..and what is the best hot chocolate? I like hot chocolate.

I really didn't like any of the Keurig cup hot chocolates. I use Land O' Lakes hot chocolate mixes (butterscotch, mint, vanilla, etc.) and then use the hot water dispenser on the Keurig.

I've been tempted to get one but I've heard the hot chocolate is all really bad.

I'll check the one at my kids' school tomorrow, cause I've had their hot chocolate and it's not bad. It's not excellent or anything, but definitely good enough for my free cup each morning when I take my kids to school! I usually throw in one of those little creamer cups too, but that's more because I make my hot chocolate with milk at home so I prefer a creamier taste.

As for hot chocolate, I think the best one is the Green Mountain one. Really rich. If you are used to powdered mixes in the packets, you will like it as it is a step up from that. If you like really rich hot chocolates from specialty shops, it will seem watery to you.

When you register the Keurig, you get a special offer from them to order the kcups. It is a pretty good deal and they have a lot of variety packs to try. I only like flavored, and my favorites right now are:

Gloria Jean Butter Toffee
Green Mountain Hazelnut
Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice
Green Mountain Golden French Toast
Green Mountain Gingerbread
Gloria Jean Chocolate Almond
Donut House Cinnamon Roll

We absolutely love ours. DH likes regular coffee, I only drink flavored. The teas are good too (according to DH). We each usually drink a cup in the morning and an occassional cup of hot chocolate (me) or tea (DH) at night. It is so great for company as well, great conversation piece and our friends love trying new flavors.

When you buy the machine, get him a filter insert for it. They are around $15 and they allow you to use any coffee product in the machine. It replaces the K-cup and you can put your fresh ground coffee in place of the K-cup. It is a great addition and opens up even more choices.

I usually get my K-cups from Amazon .com. They have great deals o0n them and have a large variety. You can usually get free shipping they have some some 2for1 deals.

He will love it. Great choice

Keurig is going to be on QVC thoughout the day on Sunday 11/29. Last year I bought their Keurig "Today's Special Value" deal @ $128.40, which included: the Keurig Ultimate coffee brewer, reusable My K-Cup filter, 18 variety pack of K-Cup flavors (tea, cocoa, and coffee in decaf, bold, medium, light, and flavored), 18-pack of Newman's Special Blend, 18-pack of Green Mountain Nantucket Blend.

They do have that same model for $156 right now, but I bet on 11/29 they will have a much better price/deal if you haven't bought yet and want to check it out.

Thanks for this thread. I have been debating whether or not to buy one of these for my mil. She likes flavored coffees as well as hot chocolates and such. It's only her and her mom (she's in her 90's) in that household and I think something like this would be perfect for the two of them.

We absolutely love our Keurig...I highly recommend it - but as others have said I have not heard good things about the cocoa - we do buy hot chocolate Kcups but we always add it to coffee to make a mocha - we don't really drink alone.

I am a tea drinker and while the keurig cup of tea is not the same as the kettle boiling - it is quick, convenient and they have many many types of tea available.

I suggest you start out getting a variety pack (they sell them many places -I've seen them at bed bath, beyond around here) so you can try a bunch of different flavors to find your favorites.

I love my Kuerig. I have a huge variety of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. It's so easy to use, DD uses it to make her own hot chocolate.

Where is a good place to find a variety of different flavor K cups? I need to actually be able to go into the store and buy them ~ tomorrow. My MIL wants them for Christmas and just told us the other day that they want to do Christmas with us on Thanksgiving because we won't see them for Christmas. So now I am on the hunt. She wants German chocolate cake by Timothys and any medium roast by Green Mountain or Timothy's.

We drink Coffee People Donut Shop coffee, Emeril's Vanilla Bean Bam! (my favorite!), and a few others. Timothy's makes a great White Hot Chocolate that my kids love!! Enjoy the Keruig!! We love ours!!

Gloria and Timothy's both make an excellent Pumpkin Spice. I also have Holiday Spice by Gloria which is very good. Amazon sells these and lots more for probably the best prices, especially if you sign up for the auto ship deal.

Bed Bath and Beyond has a good selection of coffees, bonus if you have one of the numerous 20% off coupons they send out.

Bed Bath and Beyond sells them at the store and you can use the 20% off coupon. I know they have green mountain flavors, not sure about the Timothy's. Other places I have seen K-Cups...grocery store, BJs, Costco.
