Well, I did it....I waitlisted BLT! - The DIS Discussion Forums

DH and I are going without the girls in January. We are happily booked in a 1BR at SSR. Have ADRs, I THINK everything is ready.....then DH decides that if we are ever going to stay at BLT, we need to do it now so that we can just get a 1BR. If we go with the girls, we will need/want 2BR. So I have been calling on an almost daily basis and decided today to waitlist...we'll see. If anyone has extra pixie dust, can we borrow some? I promise to send some back!!

when in Jan?

the first week or MLK birthday week - then forget it.

but otherwise you might have a chance.

the 1-bedroom at BLT sleeps 5 - so you and your kids would fit - it has 2 bathrooms.

would wait (if you can) until they are teens to get a 2-bedroom there.

Here's some Pixie Dust, I think you will need it! We waitlisted at 7 months out for a dedicated 2 bedroom, and got Lake View at 6 months out. DDiL was going to run in the 1/2 marathon, and I understand that race runs right past the BLT, that's why we chose to stay there. It turns out that DDiL has torn her ACL, and will not run, but we're staying at BLT anyway for that 5 night stay. The samples of the 1-2 bedrooms really appeal to everyone in the family, so we are psyched about staying there, just a bit sad for DDiL. She had begun planning nearly 2 years out. I'm not familiar with recovery from such an injury, but she's a nurse and I'm sure she'll do whatever is needed.

Our 3 DGC and I have birthdays within 2 weeks of the stay, and we booked the Pirate Wishes cruise during that stay to celebrate. How convenient to be right where the party starts!

OP, I know we would fit in a 1 BR, we are just used to a 2BR at SSR and are SPOILED by the room, esp. with three girls!

Also, my mom has gone on the last three trips with us, so we need room for her also.

This is our 15th anniversary trip, so, as much as we LOVE SSR, we just thought we'd try something different. If the WL comes through, great...if not, it won't dampen our excitement of being at WDW!! We honeymooned there and have been with the girls 4 times.

Bought DVC two trips ago, only regret is we didn't just buy in on our honeymoon!

DVD just made a new Declaration for BLT. It added 20 more 2-bedroom villas to the DVC Membership inventory. I'm not sure how many of these villas are 2-bedroom lockoffs, but I'm sure there are more 1-bedrooms now available for Member bookings than before. Good luck!!

Happy Anniversary, I hope that especially with the new inventory, your waitlist will come through...what a nice way to celebrate. We miss you, we're there from the 6th to the 11th.

We are waitlisted for a 1-bedroom or studio lake view from 1/22-1/25. So far it hasn't come through. But.... we did get Beach Club this week by calling.
