Booking a 2 bed lock off for part of your stay??

Hi, we are thinking of booking a one bed at AKV next December, but will possibly have relatives joining us for 2 days in the middle.

Is it possible to book a 2 bed lock off for just 2 days in the middle and then just have the 1 bed 'portion' for the remainder of our trip? (that way we could all be together when our relatives are with us, but then just have the smaller space without moving around, before and after they are gone)

Sounds great to me, but wondered whether it is actually possible to do??

Many thanks

We did something similar at OKW several years ago. We arrived about three days before our friends arrived. We booked a one bedroom (lockoff) for three nights, then a two bedroom lockoff for the next four nights. We asked to stay in the same one bedroom portion for the entire time and they were able to grant our wish. We had to confirm it when we arrived that our two bedroom villa would include the same one bedroom portion.

With your two bedroom days in the middle, it may be harder to do. Our reservation was at a slightly less busy time, too.

Yellowstone was amazing and is a lot more inviting than Disney right now. Could we be selling it all in the near future? Maybe.

You can request but nothing is guaranteed. Stayed at Saratoga last November with a couple of months notice using developers points. Had enough points for a 2 bedroom for 2 nights and a studio for 1 night so a 1 bedroom unit was paid for out of pocket. Explained the situation when booking and as well as checking in. We had the same studio for all 3 nights but the 1 bedroom for the first night was on a different floor and quite a long walk away although it was in the same building. We had to check out of the 1 bedroom early and the 1 bedroom that connected to the studio was not ready to be occupied yet so we moved all our stuff into the studio. When we returned from the parks late that night we were able to open the 1 bedroom and the connecting doors to make a 2 bedroom lock off.

I'm happy to dance with you
I have 2 opinions
We had tried usual things to keep them away, including something like coyote urine, it is sold in hardware stores by us

So, OKW was able to accomodate someone, but SSR didn't. I would note the request at check in and hope for pixie dust! December is busy, but you may be lucky.

Ditto on the OKW. We were able to have the 2 bed at the beginning and then went down to a 1 bed after the 4th day for the rest of our 8 day stay. We were there in Oct. for that trip. Good luck with the request.

thank you everyone for the info!! - I don't think I will risk it as is can't be guaranteed!! (We are travelling with our 2 small boys, so won't really want the hassle of having to change rooms, especially as I am not altogether sure our relatives will turn up - they can be a bit 'flaky' sometimes!!!)

Many thanks though!!

Where "flaky relatives" are concerned, I'd just reserve them a studio, and if they cancel on you, make sure it's in time to bank the points used for the studio.
