WE have never stayed at POR- I really no nothing about this resort aside from what I have read.
When we stayed at POFQ, it was only for 3 days and we did not venture over!

I am wondering which area? 1st floor with stroller? near laundry and pool? bus stop?? ease of parking? ( we will have rental for arrival- we are going north fl to visit mil first)

Have a great trip....I would think that if you ask, perhaps into AB section, bldg 18 area????, near food court, main bus stop, main area check in etc, that'd be good....since you have a car, I think its easier no matter where you are.

Its a beautiful resort and if you get a chance, be sure to take a walk over the bridge at night, when it is lit up, so pretty.

Have a great time! You can tell from below....I LOVE it............pixie dust to you

I love POR. Last time we went we were at the Acadian House which I thought I was not going to like but as it turned out, we loved it. It wasn't that far of a walk to the food court and the grounds are beautiful. Enjoy your trip wherever you end up!

If you have a little one and all the "stuff" that comes with a baby, just make sure you ask for a first floor room if you request a room in AB....they don't have elevators and the buildings are not built right on the ground, so even the first floor rooms have a few steps up to them. We got a second floor room during our stay in August, and it was a real pain!

The advice from Tink sounds good. I am going to be there all week too. I have not requested anything accept first floor.

Maybe our little kids could play.

With POR you have two choices the Alligator Bayou section or the Mansions section. Read about each area and based on the description pick one. We have stayed in both. For the Mansions section I would suggest Magnolia Terrace as it is not far from a bridge to Ole Man Isle and a little farther the Food Court, it is also close to one of the Bus depots which cuts down the walk late at night. Another suggested bldg 18 in Alligator Bayou, which is a good choice, we have stayed in Bldg 16 (twice) and like it because (as we drive) it is close to the parking lot (though each time our room faced the interior of the resort) and about the same distance to the main building as Magnoloa Terrace.

Each location I have mentioned is about a 5 minute walk from the Main Building (if that).

Have fun deciding, You can't go wrong with either section choice, but they are different. Look at photos and the map for ideas as to theming and distances.
