December 6th through 11th - Looks like rain!!!

What is it like at Disney when rain is in the forecast? I plan on taking the family rain or shine, I refuse to stay at the resort because of some rain.

What's rain like in Florida? I live in Pittsburgh and it can rain 5 days straight, no breaks.

What's Disney like when it rains? Do they close attractions? Close early? Etc.

Thanks.

Don't worry, that forecast will change every day between now and then.

You are WAY too far out to trust the forecast. Don't worry I'm sure it will be fine. I've been in December multiple times and its rarely ever a "wash out"

It rains frequently but not usually for incredibly long stretches. Or it might not rain at all. But first thing first I really wouldn't even bother looking at the weather forcast that far in advance. That's 13 days in advance. It's completely useless.

Do people use rain jackets? I have some gore-tex gear that will help...I plan on taking my gore-tex jacket and pants...that way I am covered...literally.

I guess a little rain in the forecast isn't a bad thing. We were there in December of 2007 and it was in the 80s and crowded.

Now, I never seen crowds in peak season, but I spoke with a few people there and they said it's more crowded than usual because of the locals.

If rain is in the forecast, I guess it would keep the locals out. Keep positive, right?

Gore-tex in 70 degree weather? I think I would lose 20 pounds in Gore-tex in Florida!!!

I also looked at the long range forecast for Orlando. I take it with a grain of salt. I have yet to see a weatherman get the forecast 100% correct for 2 days away, much less 2 WEEKS. For us, if it rains, we get wet. I spent way too much money and wayyyy too much time here on the Dis to let a little precip stop us.

Don't worry, Dec 6-11 is hardly peak season!

Look at it this way - we're starting to hit really high drought numbers. If it gets too dry, they could cancel fireworks (it's been done before). So a little rain here and there keeps Wishes and Illuminations going strong.

I wouldn't worry one bit about the rain. If you catch a day that has more than the passing shower, or even an all day cloud cover, you'll still be fine. We were there this past May and experienced a week-long deluge of biblical proportions and still thought it was the best vacation ever.

I go almost every year second week of December and it is almost always dry. May get really cool, may get really hot, Florida weather is so unpredictable. If it does rain, it's usually never for long. I'm trying to forecast myself but it really is too far out.

Even if it says 50% or greater chance of rain (when it does get closer) it usually doesn't last long unless a major front or storm gets worked up.

Relax! Can't do nuttin' about the weather anyway, let's just go to Disney and have a great time regardless!

I leave on Dec 1st and have been checking the weather everday since I hit the 15 day mark. The forecast is different every single day both for rain and temps. I go prepared for varying temperatures and expect rain every day. This way I am never disappointed.

The really cool or weird thing, depending how you look at it, is it could be raining at MK and sunny and dry at AK or Epcot. The rain always amazes me when we're in Florida. We usually look at rain as our ally. When it rains people leave the parks. Makes getting on rides a lot easier.

Good luck!!!
