Sony Vegas 8.0 help(i'm still alive, btw!)
so i've been using Windows Movie Maker for a few years now and it's so easy to use but it's not without problems. it freezes constantly and i lose things, and it only has so many different effects you can use.
so i've bought Sony Vegas 8.0(ok....i've had it for a while...but i've just started trying to use it) and......I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT!! i'm so lost! i tried all of the tutorials and i still have no clue what they're talking about! anyone use this software and have any advice on how to get started?? *sorry i've been gone from here for so long. had a lot of issues with the internet and getting on certain websites. but i'm back now!!*

Welcome Back!
I do not have Vegas, but I just looked it up and the format looks similar to Final Cut. Not sure what kind of movies you are trying to make, but the software may be more advanced than what you need. Lynda.com has tutorials. They are for an older version, but it could get you started. Lynda.com is subscription based but they are very thorough. At work I have been editing on Avid for years and we just started a project using Final Cut and their tutorials have been so helpful.

i need thorough because the tutorials on the software itself and the manual are no help. i need it explained to me as if i never used a movie making program before lol.
