CSR bus info wanted

We have always got a car, but would like to save some money and use the bus system. From CSR will it take us directly to all the parks and DTD and Boardwalk or will any of these require a transfer?

I think I can Help.
CSR has 4 bus stops all around the resort. All park busses stop at #2 first which is the casitas section, then ranchos, cabanas and El centro ( lobby).

The DTD bus stops at El Centro first then goes on to the Casitas.

Bus service is to every park, DTD and water parks. BB is paired with AK and TL is paired with DTD.

The busses are only for CSR ( no sharing ) and if you need to get from one of the further sections to El Centro ( Pepper Market and shops ) just hop any park bus and get off at El Centro. Hop A DTD Back to the room from El Centro.

Hope that helps

Having just gotten back from CSR I can tell you the bus service for us was excellent. We took the bus to all the parks and Downtown Disney. The longest we had to wait was about 10 minutes for the DTD bus.
The buses only go to the parks and DTD, so if you want to go to the Boardwalk you will have to take a bus to DTD or one of the parks and then get on a Boardwalk bus.
Please realize that there are 4 bus stops within CSR itself, but CSR does not share a bus with any other resort. If you use bus stop #2, it's the first stop picked up on the way to the parks and the first stop dropped off on the way "home" from the parks.

Hope this helps you.

Another bus question... so if I took a cab to Boardwalk for dinner, can I then get on a DTD bus from the BWI bus stop? Then can bus from DTD back to CSR right?

Yes, that is correct.

As everyone else indicated, yes. And for the first time in our eight stays, we took a bus to the MK and it was exactly ten minutes from the time we left the resort to the front of the MK and exactly ten minutes coming back.

Just an fyi about the bus from DTD to Boardwalk and back... I don't know if it was just a single bad experience or what, but the ride was 40 minutes! 40 minutes there and 40 minutes back! DTD buses to Boardwalk also stop at Dolphin, Swan, Yacht Club and I can't remember, but i think I'm missing 1 or 2 places... We said if we would have known the time it would take traveling we would have not gone.

I will agree with this. We were at CBR in August and went for dinner at Beaches & Cream. The bus ride using DTD as the transfer was really long and when we finally got back to the resort we all agreed that we would think twice about doing that again.

I just wanted to add like one of the posters before me, there bus service was fantastic. The drivers were very friendly and we never had to wait long for a bus. CSR is awesome!

Would it be easier to take a bus to Epcot and then walk to Boardwalk area?

I don't know this from personal experience, but I've been told that DTD is not the best transfer point and takes a long time. You're better off using one of the parks as your hub.

It probably would be, just be aware that you go thru the back of World Showcase, so its a long walk thru the park. We were going to do that until we realized that the park was closing in 10 minutes and we didn't know if we'd make it there on the bus in time.

Another option would be to take a bus to DS and then either the boat or walk to Boardwalk. That's what we do. I hate walking all the way through Future World and then out through the International Gateway, then over to the Boardwalk. I'd rather just take the boat from DS to BW.

This is what we had planned to do last year. We ate dinner and then looked around the BW area for a while. We went to get on the boat to DHS and they said it was too late. DHS closes at 7 or 8 on some nights, so if you choose to take the bus check the times closely.
