I don't want to but I have to
I have a real isue a friend of mine wants me to start journaling for my own sake, and I just can't becuse I know that thinks of me will be reveald that I don't want reviled. Thinking about cheating by going on the Disboards and finding out what I have talked about, or maybe that is not cheating

I'm sorry, sweetie - but I don't understand what you're trying to say..
Are there things you posted here that you don't think you should have revealed? If so, you can find those posts and delete them.. The only ones that will remain is where someone "quoted" what you said.. Is this what you need to journal about? If it is, I'm not sure how writing it down would help you.. ![]()

If you don't want to journal, don't journal. If you feel that the only way to journal without revealing things is to use your disboards posts..then do it. Doesn't seem that difficult to me..

get a REAL journal and a good ink pen and start writing..or if you do not want to do it longhand, get off of the discussion board and just start an electronic journal file and keep adding to it. putting it online invites comments and (later) discovery.

Personally, I hate journaling. I just hate sitting down and writing it all down. I have tried keeping an online journal and that didn't work either. So I gave up on journaling.
What has worked much better for me is seeing a therapist and talking my problems out. It's sometimes painful, but I don't feel as isolated as I did when I was trying to journal. There are many ways to improve your mental health. I know people who have been extremely depressed who benefited from painting, drawing, making music, boxing, massage, dancing, singing, and running. Journaling is only one remedy. If it's not for you, consider it a vegetable and move along.

If you have a counselor I would implore you to be honest with her. Don't hold back. Keeping secrets from the professional who is trying to help you is a waste of time and money.

Here's an idea that may be easier for you. Instead of writing a journal why not get a little voice recorder and then whenever you have thoughts you could just record them.

If you trust your counselor, then follow her advice and don't second guess her by consulting strangers on the internet. If you don't really trust her, then look for another counselor. Sometimes it takes a little time to find one you really mesh with.

If you have a journal "due" for your counselor who is trying to work w/ you to solve some emotional issues, not doing it doesn't really hurt the counselor, merely wastes his or her time. If you truly want to heal wounds, not doing the work required only hurts you & pretty much guarantees the hurting will continue until you decide to take steps to stop it.
