Check Sports Authority. They have kids (Bladerunner twist) rollerblades on sale for 29.99 (regularly) 59.99 on Black Friday. Gottadeal.com is where I saw the ad. I'm not sure if they're the adjustable ones though.
We bought the adjustable ones (Bladerunners) for DD9 when he was 6. We just opened them up to their largest size today. Adjustable are the way to go! |

I got some on clearance last year at Target, I paid 5 bucks a pair (90% off)!!! They were back with scooters, and it was after the holidays, they marked them down with the seasonal sports items and never put them into a clearance section so I just got really lucky. Have a look there, you never know!

Watch out for the cheaper skates that have plastic type wheels. While they are fine for outside, the aren't as good inside. Initially I bought a pair of skates from Target for my DS, but saw that the skates were slipping out from under him at the rink, his wheels just weren't gripping the surface real well. We returned them for a better pair from Sports Authority with better wheels and he noticed the difference right away.

thank u for the feedback...my son will be doing lots of in-door skating as its nearing winter here. I will take a look around - if the skates don't have "plastic" wheels then what should i be looking for? Any other things to look for?
thanx again lisa

I am confused... you do not want in-line skates, you want rollerblades ??? They are one and the same thing. All four wheels in a row. I bought some at Target that are adjustable and both my boys are having a lot of luck with them and no problem with wheel slippage. If your kids are very experienced then you might want to make sure the wheels are not plastic. Most of them are not, they are rubber. Regular skates usually have rubber wheels. The only ones with plastic are the cartoony skates won't fit your son anyways.

well, Sports Authority has boys skates (never seen 4-wheel adjustable for his age) for $15 on Friday.
