Question Castaway Cay 2 Times

I heard that on the Wonder sometime it goes to Castaway Cay twice. When is that? And why is that?

They are doing them during summer 2010 and summer 2011.

Why? Castaway Cay is one of the high points of any Disney cruise. My husband said that if the ship parked at CC for the whole cruise he would never go anywhere else.

Next year is the perfect time to do Castaway Cay twice. The upgrades will be completed, including the new cabanas and water slide, so there will be twice as much time to explore and enjoy. Also, if you have bad weather on your first stop you get another chance.

When I was on the Magic and Wonder during the first years of the DCL existince, One of the big muckety mucks I forget who, was saying they take the guest comments seriously and that the ships will go where the guests want them to. I am guessing that there was a big request for more time at CC.Not that I am complaining.

Twenty of my family and friends just took their first 4 night cruise and everyone wished for two days at CC.

I did an itinerary with two stops at CC and loved it!!!! It was so nice feeling like we didn't need to pack everything the island has to offer in one day. So our first day was exploring the island and the second day was relaxing!!! I'll be doing another double dip on the Dream in 2011.

We took our first cruise in April of 2007 (4 night cruise)... We were only supposed to have one stop in Castaway Cay - but due to extremely windy weather, the ship went back the next day. We had two days there and it was wonderful!

My husband said the same thing. We'll be doing a double dip on the Dream.

Our Western Turkeyday sailings were ALL double dips due to an off shore boat race in key west the weekend before Thanksgiving, we missed key west but got CC twice!

I'm not a beach person, so a few hours at Castaway Cay and lunch were plenty for me. I learned after my first Disney cruise that I would NOT want to do a double dip cruise.

We have been on a double dip cruise on the Magic, and really enjoyed.
Visiting Castaway Cay is truly a highlight for us.

Yes, we refer to them as Double Dips here. The Magic the previous sailing March 14th was a Double Dip..... We were scheduled but could not go due to a school issue.

We scheduled it after not being able to dock at CC one cruise. My DH was soooo sad that we booked a DD. It is our families favorite POC. The island just fits every DREAM / FANTASY I have ever had....

As it was a 4 night cruise, did 2 stops at cc muck up the itinerary or was there just no "at sea" day? how did that work?

thanks

I am taking DD7 on our first cruise sometime next year (not booked yet). I can't decide if we should do a 7 night, or back to back 4 and 3 nights. I thought the kids activities looked more varied on the 7 nights, but we are more interested in Nassau and Castaway Cay than any of the Caribbean ports. Plus, there are no 7 night cruises scheduled for our preferred time frame, so if we go with that we will have to go at a less desirable (to us) time. Have any of you done 4/3 nights back to back? Do you have to get off the ship? TIA

Just did the Nov 14th Double dip and it was amazing. Doing another in 2 years time.

We had more time to do stuff on CC that before...I even did the 5k run. It is great, no worries about excusions, cabs or people trying to braid your hair.
