Do you think World of Color will be weekends only early June?
Trying to decide on dates for our next trip and leaning toward 1st week of June but we'd only get 2 day tickets most likely this time and want to make sure we see World of Color. Do you think it will most likely be weekends only that 1st week until the summer entertainment is in full swing? Would it possibly be canceled due to winds like the fireworks are sometimes? Thanks for any opinions!

it may only run on weekends. It varies by the park hours.
As for cancelled by wind, its also possible but im sure it will only cancel on very high speed winds. Just think of WoC as F!. if F! you think F! will get canceled due to the weather, most likely WoC will. but it wont be as sensitive as the fireworks.

Oh I hope not! With everyone wanting to see the new show that would just be crazy if it's only weekends.

My own GUESS would be that it would be shown nightly. There are a ton of people who will want to see it and Disney will want to get people into DCA instead of Disneyland. I'm not sure how much the show will cost to run, but my best guess is that it will be cheaper (per show, not necessarily infrastructure) than some of the other nighttime events, as well.
It's all speculation, though. I always cross my fingers for the best but plan for the worst! (Since I have an AP through mid-June I'm tempted to make a trip to DL to see it myself, but we'll see if that actually pans out.)

I saw a talk on World of Color where someone asked about winds - they said they can change the programming of the show on the fly to lower the fountains and turn the ones closest to the audience off.
I would HOPE they would run it nightly once it starts - but since it's a nighttime show, if they only have DCA open until 6:00 like they usually do on weekdays then it wouldn't be dark enough to do it. :-( |

If you only visit the parks for 2 days perhaps you could do Thur. & Fri. or Sun. & Mon. ~ that you you'd have 1 weekend day - you'd have lower crowds Fri. morning/early afternoon and locals would probably go home somewhat early on Sun. evening.

Thanks guys! Great thoughts. DisneyMomma, that's what I was thinking, using Friday as one of the days if we need to. I hope they get the schedule out at least a couple months before so I can plan a little better! The waiting and not knowing drives me crazy.

I was worried about weekends only also, so added a Friday night to my May trip.
I think it's supposed to start in April? |

April 24th is the date that's been bandied about, but there's been some indication from a certain CM that posts on this board that maybe, MAYBE it could start in March.

Yah they will want to show it nightly for awhile is my guess too. There is a TON of hype over this thing, which is to be expected. Who doesnt LOVE Fantasmic and to have a new show that maybe similar to it is going to be the biggest event of the year there. Its to be open in the spring time, which means celebs and then annual pass holders as usual will probably get the first go at seeing it, and then all the general public. But all the general public will want to see this so I can imagine with the spring and then summer weather (Which is usually very good) they will have it nightly for even just a few weeks.
