Waitlist strategy at VGC

Need some advice since I am new to DVC and the waistlist game. I tried to reserve a 2 bedroom suite at VGC from 6/20 - 6-24 but no availability so am waitlisted. I did call on 11/20 so hopefully should be near the top of the list. Since I can have 2 active waitlist, right now, I have it as the dedicated 2 bedroom and the lock-off 2 bedroom. I know that the lock-off is less likely to come through since it takes 2 villas out of inventory. I also know that all four days have to come open for the waitlist to clear. So, I am trying to maximize my chances and thought I might modify my waitlist as into 2 day blocks, both at the dedicated 2 bedroom. I would waitlist the first two days, 6/20 & 6/21 and the last 2 days, 6/22 & 6/23. Would like opinions is that would increase my chances of clearing. I asked MS when I called and he said he would give it a few weeks before modifying the waitlist.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If you cut it into 2-2 night stays, wouldn't that count as your 2 W-L's?
If so, you would have to pick one room configuration to WL which would narrow your opportunities

Also, you could modify your first W-L, but your second 2-night stay WL would be starting from scratch. (If that is what your going to do, you might want to put in for it ASAP to increase your chances).

Yeah, I thought it might make the second W-L start from scratch but they say the lock-off's are less likely to come through since it takes 2 villas out of inventory. I just want to maximize my chances.

DVC no longer allows day-by-day waitlists. I think you cannot break up a single consecutive stay into more than 1 WL. You need to skip a day (for example, no WL for 6/22), which might happen if you are able to book a single day or if you are willign to take the risk. However, I have no personal experience with this, as I have not had to do a complicated WL since the rule changed. -- Suzanne
