Why the mixed reviews of CP lunch on allears?

Everyone on here raves about CP lunch, but on allears the reviews are not that great. There is quite a difference between breakfast and lunch reviews....breakfast being in the 9's and lunch in the 7's.

Any thoughts on this?

I have a breakfast ADR and a lunch ADR. I am only going to keep one, but the lunch ADR works slightly better with our schedule. With the breakfast ADR, we'll have two TS in one day, which won't be bad, but I'd rather do the lunch on the other day to spread out our ts meals a bit more. Plus, lunches just work better in general with our touring and I like our big meals in the middle of the day. I'm just wondering if breakfast is really that much better.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

My thoughts are that breakfast (unless it is supposed to be hot and is cold) is pretty hard to mess up. It is basic standard American fare simple eggs, fruit, pastries, potatoes, waffles or pancakes.

Lunch has greater variety of foods and spices and hence the more chance for someone to not like something - too much spice, not enough spice, too salty, not enough salt, too hot, too cold, fish is too fishy, beef to well done, not cooked enough.... You get the idea. Hence the lower number.

We love lunch and dinner at CP. It is one of the must does for every trip. The Ancho rubbed salmon, corn spoon bread and garlic mashed potatoes are some of our favorite foods.

Hope this helps some.

I love lunch there too. Breakfast is great if you are able to get an ADR for before park opening. Having Main St to yourself is beyond awesome. I love lunch though especially the boston creme pie!

Keep the lunch if that is more convenient for you. There will always be mixed reviews of all restaurants as everyone has different tastes. That's why they make so many flavors of Jello.

Thanks everyone! I'm not scared of lunch anymore. Lunch really does work better for us, so I think I am going to go with it. I also think my DH will love the carving station and I'm looking forward to the desserts.

Thanks again. I'll have a cancellation for CP breakfast, so if anyone is interested, watch for it tomorrow on the December cancellation thread.

Stick with lunch. The food is good and it's a good time to get a break and sit.

I think the CP breakfast experience is excellent and sometimes people's ratings can be influenced by things like the pre-opening park experience or the fact that CP has a few unique breakfast offerings. Their lunch buffet is great too, but if someone is hoping to match that walk down a quiet mainstreet to their ADR, they will be sadly disappointed when heading to CP for lunch as we know the park is well into full swing by then and things are more hectic. Our lunch experiences at CP have always been good, and i would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Oh, and for the post about not being able to mess up breakfast----have you eaten at Cape May??

I did both in March -- while it was fine both times, I thought breakfast was better than lunch. The biggest difference is, frankly, meat. Meat carving stations at buffets have a very hard time pleasing all patrons. Having a decidedly "medium rare" to "rare" palette, I find buffet meats to be all too often overcooked.

Case in point - having a decidedly "medium well" to "well" palette, I find buffet meats to be all too often undercooked. LOL!

Here's another vote for CP! Love the breakfast, love the lunch. Actually, DD prefers the lunch to the breakfast (might have something to do with the presence of icecream though ....), but it is a must do more than once for us on every trip.

Have a wonderful lunch! We have been to CP for breakfast and dinner and both have been wonderful! I would definitely like to try lunch sometime soon.
