Will we make it to MVMCP

We weren't planning on doing the MVMCP on our trip because of the not so great reviews on it, but the closer we get, the more we want to do it. We have ADR's at Whispering Canyon Cafe at 5:10 pm. There are no earlier ressies available. What are the chances of us being able to make it to the Party on time? And, if we aren't there right at starting time at 7:00, what will we miss? Is the parade first?

Thanks

I would believe you could easily make it I would show up a little early. The parade runs twice so you could catch the second one if you are a little late. You could either take the buses or catch the boats to get to magic Kingdom

I would think this is doable as well. I would take the boat though. If you show up a few minutes early to the adr may add some time, but as long as you don't really take a long time eating you should be fine.

I'd skip a dinner TS meal for MVMCP. If you are on the dining plan, do a lunch instead. Do you really want to go to the party on a full stomach? Enter with the bulk of the crowds?

Your MVMCP tickets will get you into the MK as early as 4 pm. The time between 4 and 7 is usually a great time to do rides with only a short wait. You can easily catch a CS meal during that time, too. We've been lucky enough to even walk on most rides between 5 and 7 and we still get a good spot for the early parade. Of course if you can do the second parade, that is even better, crowd-wise.

Frankly, I don't think you need to be there right at 7:00. The pace really slows down as the night goes by and the party is long enough to really do everything even if you get there a little after 7:00 pm.

You could do it..but my advice would be skip table service meal the night you want to do MVMCP. Have a nice big lunch and then just snack during the party. There is so much to see and do, don't waste party time eating. We usually grab something while waiting for parade to start and eat it on the curb.

We are doing MVMCP on 12/8 and are skipping TS dinner. We are doing a TS breakfast at CP and spending the morning there. Then we'll head back to the Poly for a break and then about 4ish head back to MK for the party. We learned a long time ago if you are going to do a hard-ticket event, skip the TS (we've never done a TS on those nights). I'd rather get in and enjoy it and then take some time to eat a quick dinner.

We did MVMCP on a Friday and had a 6:00 PM ADR at Kona at the Poly. We took our time eating, took our time strolling to the boat launch from the Poly to MK, and were at the party by 8:00 PM. With everyone already lined up for the parade, we had no trouble strolling right down the middle of Main Street USA. No massive crowds trying to get in and out by then. That gave us plenty of time to hit the attractions we wanted to, pick our spot for Holiday Wishes, and then make our way to our usual parade spot for the 10:30 PM parade.

There's really not much going on until the first parade at 8:15 (except for that absolutely horrendous Totally Tommorwland Christmas debacle), so if you're not there right at 7:00, you're not going to miss too much.

just got back!!!

We did MMVCP and it is awesome my suggestion is skip the early parade in lieu of XMAS characters in Mickeys toontown and go to the 1030parade crowds are low at the late parade so many people leave after wishes. We did the dessert party and it really was'nt worth the time it took away from the party so don't do both.

I don't think you will miss very much.
You will be one of the first sittings for dinner at Whispering Canyon (they start at 5 p.m. for dinner) so if you get there a little early, scope out the menu and are ready to order you can probably get out of there before 7 p.m.. Ask for your bill as you order dessert and you can probably be out before 6:30.
I agree with PP, that said to stick around after Wishes, crowds clear out and you can watch the parade again as it runs like four or five times during the party. Don't forget to ask for ketchup!

Now I am a little worried

I also am doing the christmas party on 12/10 and have ressies at 515 at WCC. I was figuring if we get in even at 515, dinner will take an hour, then skip down to the boat and be at the MK by 7 at the latest. Am I really that far off? Just to explain, we arrive on the 10th hence the dinner ressies and party on the same night. I thought this would work out well, now after reading this, I am questioning my planning...

TIA

Sherry

I think both of you will be fine. The party doesnt officially start until 7pm though you can get in at 4pm. Yes, it is nice to get in early and do some things before it starts but it isnt necessary. I think the party lasts long enough for you to enjoy it for sure! We like to do the late parade and shop afterwards and do everything as far as rides and characters go before hand! It always works out great! Do what you want and do not fret, you are at Disney!
