Which restaurant for my son's 2nd birthday?

Hey everyone! I need opinions for my son's second birthday dinner. I'm trying to decide between Garden Grill and T-Rex.

We have been to Garden Grill in the past but not T-Rex. We will eat dinner at both places during our vacation so I'm only trying to decide which would be better for a birthday celebration. I want to order a custom cake. Would I be better getting the cake at Epcot? I'm not sure what bakery services the Downtown Disney restaurants. Does anyone know?

Thanks!!

I would go to Garden Grill for your birthday celebration. TRex is not a Disney restaurant so I'm not sure you can get a special cake. Also, it is pretty loud and could frighten a 2 year old. It would be horrible for your son to be upset on his birthday

I would avoid T-rex. It freaked my son out. I have never been to the Garden Grill so I have no comment there. The restaurant that stuck out the most for my sone was the breakfast we had at Chef Mickeys.

Anything with Mickey/Friends characters unless he's into pooh - the cyrstal palace is great/pretty/bright/good food/good character interaction! Garden grill has good character interaction too - funny chip/dale/plutos but the food is different (check menu) and the atmosphere is so dark/blah/outdated for my taste.

i agree 2 is too young for t-rex on the b-day. Frankly, mickey might scare him - at the time my 20 month old only liked characters at a distance except face ones and Leo/June. Many freaking out crying pics with the mickey crew - even pooh bear!
poor thing!

Chef Mickey's a MUST!

I would recommend Chef Mickey's! It is so magical for kids. There is mickey and minnie and goofy that all come to your tables. They have a great buffet and the kids especially like the dessert treats. I bet your son would love it. My daughter (10) celebrated her birthday here in the Spring and she was in awe. We ordered a cake and everyone sang Happy Birthday to her. It was magical.
