OK, I'm assuming this is the one used by Chilkoot for the Yukon Bus and Rail excursion. I guess we will be in a wait-and-see situation. We are scheduled for this trip in three weeks.
I'm so glad that no one was seriously hurt!!

You can't miss my DH. He's a big burly USMC redneck w/ a fanny pack and acting like a kid who can't wait for the next ride at WDW.

We are scheduled to go on it and to Liarsville in 2 weeks (on a Thursday).

Does anyone know if they will substitute a bus for the train, or just cancel all together?

Hoping to hear from someone that is on the Wonder this week.

Oh, that's too bad! I'm *SO* glad no-one was seriously hurt! It's really a wonderful trip; I hope they're back up and running soon.

I was going to email Chilkoot but figured they are probably very busy with people in port today (the Wonder is there today). So I'll wait a few days to see if there is any news on it re-opening. I figure they might just change ours to a bus both ways (we are scheduled for bus up and train back).

I'm in Skagway right now. The cruise director made an announcement last night that all tours were cancelled but did not give the reason. There were lots of people lined up at the port adventures desk last night.

Thanks for the update. I'm going to have a Plan B...just in case ours gets cancelled.

Thanks for the heads up. We are on the Aug 4 cruise and had booked this train ride for Aug 7. Disappointing ! Looks like we'll be looking into plan B. I would appreciate hearing any updates on the situation. Thanks !

Oh my. I'm so thankful no one was seriously injured and will certainly be watching this closely as we have this excursion booked at the end of August.

Well, that's just frightening! We rode the train in 2011 as part of our White Pass Railway & Klondike Gold Dredge excursion. I'm particularly thinking about those narrow bridges and the sheer drops at times. Sure was glad to see it wasn't in those areas where it jumped the track. I was relieved to read that the injuries were not more serious in nature. I hope they are able to get it up and running safely in the next few weeks. What a bummer for the DCL sailors scheduled for today's tours.
