Has this happened to you? You start to see stuff everywhere?

In the past few days, I've been seeing fleur-de-lis (for those who don't know what they are, http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumb_7...9615SxQWJW.jpg ) EVERYWHERE! On soup cans, as tattoos, on shirts, in movies, as decals on cars, just everywhere! It's not like I go looking for it either, they're just popping up all over the place.

Has anything like that ever happened to you? Is there any meaning behind it?

Nah, I'm in the US and not in New Orleans, either.

I'll have random things like that. I learn about something, then suddenly notice it a lot more. I think it's because it's fresh in your mind or something.

ya that stuff happens to me quite a bit. especially if i'm doing a certain play/scene for theatre, i always see stuff that relates back to the play.
i just did the cherry orchard by chekhov and then today at work i saw this dvd of all chekhov plays that i'd never seen before, and i just see chekhov related stuff more than i ever did! i'm probably just noticing it more now though.

anyways that's strange that you're seeing the fleur de lis everywhere! maybe it's because we were talking about french stereotypes and you're subconsciously picking up on it

I was watching Star Trek today with Ensign Chekov, haha!
And maybe it's because I've developed a strong crush on a gorg french soccer player.

I have a fleur de lis shirt :D
But I don't notice objects reappearing everywhere, just people.

The fleur de lis symbol was used in france to mark criminals sentenced to death. It was tattooed on them so if they ever escaped they could be tracked down easily. No idea why this symbol is getting popular all of a sudden.

Yeah, now it's the logo of the New Orleans Saints. Maybe it's more popular because they are undefeated right now.

thats actually. um. really wrong.
fleur de lis has appeared on almost every european coat of arms. but it dates as far back as mesopotamian art, and even further back to egyptian reliefs. its consistent through all areas of the world, appearing in japanese art, indonesian art, and even gaulish coinage. and thorough out all of those, it has been consistently used as a royal symbol. never for criminals. its even a symbol for the madonna with child.

That might be true for France before the Revolution but during and after the Revolution it was for criminals.

That is the symbol for my roommates sorority. It is ALL over her wall, so I see it when I fall asleep. :D

I know what you mean though. I usually look at the clock every day at the same times, I think I just notice cause they have meaning. I see it at 4:20, 9:11, and 11:11 almost every day. Strange stufff.
