Confused about MK Parade Taping on Dec 5th - The DIS Discussion Forums

We are coming in on the 5th of Dec. and I have heard that this is a confirmed parade taping day. Does this mean we will not be able to get into the MK that day? I looked up on the Disney site and saw that it will be EMH on that day, so we had planned on going to MK when we arrive. How long will they be taping the parade? If we wanted to get in on the taping can we? Very confused

You can still get into the MK....Main St will be packed but the rest of the park should be fine. You can try to get a spot on Main St but I honestly doubt you will find anything. They give out tickets to Fla residents and it starts EARLY and can be an all day event due to stops and starts...retakes and such! We witnessed it first hand back in 06...crazy!

And once the taping is over, all those people who were there watching the taping get to stay in the park, so expect the ride lines to be long come evening.

In '07 they scheduled the 'watchers' in two shifts. I believe the second shift came in just before noon to replace the morning people. There was a sudden flooding of the lines at about noon - we grabbed lunch and then decided it was way too crowded and hopped out to another park by 1PM. Remember that all of the people signing up for the taping are given free entry into the park for the entire day - they all stay.
