Action dino for 7 yr old girl? Spike Jr?
My daughter loves the Spike at Target in the display. Sorry, not enough room for that in my house. Plus, it's $120. She says she would be OK with Spike Jr. All the reviews for it seem ok but they are all from parents of 3-5 year olds. Anyone have an older child with Spike Jr?
I love the D-Rex but just can't see spending $100-$120 on a toy. Thanks for any reviews or suggestions.

My 5 year old son has been dino-obsessed for 3 years now, so we've checked out pretty much every dinosaur toy on the market, lol! One you might want to look at is the Screature (I think by Mattel?). It's similar in size to the D-Rex, but only around $30. It does a few things, and my son loves that it spits water at you to "attack." Personally, I think she'd get bored with Spike Jr. really quickly!
Here's the link to check it out: http://www.amazon.com/Mattel-N4320-S.../dp/B001O2S7X0

My son is 6 and loves his Spike jr. He also wanted the Spike the dinosaur but was happy with this one. Has had it since Sept and still plays with it every day. He tends to play with it with his imaginext dragons and dinos.

My 7 year old boy got it last year for Christmas. Right before Christmas TRU had him on sale and I used the coupon they had out, I think I paid around $80 for him. Jonah DOES have special needs, but he LOVES Spike. It's been worth every cent. My 11 year old girl plays with him to. He can fetch, laugh, burp, snore. Jonah just adores Spike. The 4 year old loves him as well. His battery is rechargable, and we've only had to replace theremote batteries like 3 times. We make sure he turns it off and it does prolong it.
In fact he asked for the red Spike for Christmas this year, so that his Spike would have a friend when he goes to school. He's not getting it though. Have you looked to see if there are any deals for Spike? |

My DD7 has been asking for Spike, but since her one of her good friends have him (and he rarely gets played with) she knows that if she wants to play with Spike, she goes to her friend's house. She's asking for Spike Jr this go around.

My DS7 is dinosaur obsessed... in fact we are watching a dino show on National Geographic right now. He tells me he is going to be a paleontologist (and a pilot so he can fly to fossil sites on his own).
We have D-Rex and nearly every Imaginext dino... but he didn't want Spike as he felt he was "too boring". It did seem a little young for him... but every kid is different. But we do have Screecher and that is $30-$35 as others mentioned. It is pretty cool - and it can spit water really far.

I might like the idea of Screature. It's $34.99 everywhere right now. Has anyone seen it on sale recently? Just wondering what the best price might be that I should aim for in my hunting.
Thanks!
