What can go wrong?

I've been lurking on these boards for a few months and have gained valuable information. With the generosity of others through their advice and comments, I purchased a small DVC contract and made my 1st reservation today for May, 2010 at OKW for 4 nights.

It took only 60 days from the day I made an offer to be put in the system as a DVC member. That includes the seller's acceptance, pass ROFR, exchange documents, title search, complete the sale and transfer of points. I received notice from the title company Tues (11/17) that the sale was concluded and obtained my mbr number on Friday (11/20). I got a point transfer into my account on the same day from another mbr and made my reservations today (Sat - 11/21). The 2br and the building I wanted were available.

Now, with all that said, I have read quite a few posts on these boards about the multitude of things that have gone wrong for others with each and every step of this process. Tell me fellow DISboarders, what is going to go wrong?!

I am not a lucky person. That fellow in Murphy's Law is my uncle! I am waiting for the ax to fall! Will it be a hurricane, a fire that destoys the resort or will my vehicle break down along the way?

Nevertheless, for all those horror stories that we read about, with a little bit of and a prayer of thanks to the man upstairs for ole Walt's vision, I am proof that dreams can come true!!

Here's hoping all of you have as enjoyable of a time as I have had and continue to have through purchases, ressies and following the comments on this board. Thanks to all of you.

Congrats and welcome home! I wouldn't worry too much. People tend to post when they are mad or something bad happens. Everyone one of my DVC trips has been magical. (Although I've posted some gripes from time to time).

Bill, look at it this way: You say you're closely associated with Murphy's Law.
This indicates to me that you feel you've had a run of less thatn fortunate circumstances. Statistically speaking, even BAD luck runs out at some point.
Sound like things have turned the corner. Welcome Home

Welcome Home and Congratulations from Mickey, Goofy, and Me!
The pain of falling victim to Murphy's Law is nothing compared to winning a Darwin Award! Talk about a real need for

I would say that this is your year. Your Saints haven't lost a game and appear to be on their way to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Enjoy your vacation and enjoy your points.

Welcome Home! Hey your resale initial contract took the same amount of time to process through as did our resale add on contract, so Murphy didn't visit you during your purchase. So I'd say things are turning around for you and all the magic at WDW is sure to help.

Congratulations on your purchase!

Thanks all for the encouraging words. I am typing this very quietly so as to not wake up "Uncle Murphy"!
