Please tell me about the House of Blues in DTD

We will be on the basic DDP for our July 2010 trip, but we will be paying for one TS dinner OOP. Since House of Blues in DTD does not accept the DDP, and its menu looks pretty interesting, we are considering it as the OOP dinner.

How is the food at House of Blues? Anything in particular you would recommend? How is this place for children? We would be going to dinner between 5 and 6PM, to give you an idea, and we have 2 sons who will be 3 and 5 at that time. We take them out to eat all the time and they are very well-behaved in restaurants. Is this an appropriate place for them or should we try a different restaurant? Thanks!

We went with our two grandkids this past May.......they enjoyed the coloring books and crayons they were given and they ate all their food too......We had a variety of things...I had the shrimp po boy with fries and coleslaw. We had two skillets of their corn bread to share. My dil had the meatloaf that she now makes at home and loves it. My son had jambalaya and my hubby had some chicken dish. The kids ate the kids meals and enjoyed it all......the corn bread went first......I can say that this is good food and the prices were pretty decent for what we had..

My husband and I went there a couple of years ago and LOVED it. The atmosphere was hip, the service was great, and the food was delicious. I think I had steak and I think my husband had some kind of jumbalaya (spelling??). The portions were very generous and we ended up taking quite a bit back to the hotel with us (including a yummy dessert) which was a nice treat for the next day.

Best food around! I know it may sound less then delicious but I suggest "The Elwood" - a Blackened Chicken Breast Sandwich with Chili Garlic Mayo, Green Chilis & Sour Cream. I always get sweet potato fries instead of regular because they are delicious. I simple love this place and make it a point to eat here on my trips. Also my friend loves the pulled pork sandwich.

I usually get

the shrimp po boy or the cajun meatloaf. I highly recommend the rosemary cornbread with maple butter.
